Dawson has missed 2 open layups. Consistently no touch around the rim especially on a finish. This is going to be another no scoring foul fest.

Get StartedI'm not since you're so concerned. I didn't expect to win this one, the one I'm upset about was losing to Maryland at home. We won at Iowa so that somewhat makes up for that loss. We should beat PSU and then go on the road to play Rutgers and Nebraska on the road. Those are critical games for us, if we win both we could contend for the big ten title, if we split we're in good shape, lose both we'd be in a bit of trouble.I wonder if sbee is not making too much of this either...
While it is true that teams rarely pick up road wins against conference contenders, and their season and NCAA chances will hinge more on beating the lesser teams on the road and not blowing any more home games, it would have been nice to see them be more competitive.
Maryland played well and we didn't, they hit shots they don't make usually, Trimble was on fire from 3 (usually a 25% 3pt shooter), dawson missed 6 shots within 3 ft, we shot 30% from the line, they made a ton of free throws.
Us shooting poorly from the line is nothing new. We're one of the worst free throw shooting teams in Division 1, which is baffling given that we're a good 3-point shooting team. I guess it must be that all the guys who get to the line are the bad free throw shooters.
Opponents shooting (and making) tons of free throws also is nothing new. Izzo, with the rules being what they are now, needs to teach them to play defense without fouling. Hell neither Costello nor Schilling can even play 20 minutes a game because neither can avoid getting into foul trouble and commiting dumb fouls.
I truly believe I could go 4-13 from the line shooting left handed

Concerned? I've just been telling it like it is all year - this team is probably the 4th or 5th best team in a weak B1G. And after barely beating Minnie, Iowa just got WAXED by Wisco so that win doesn't seem to be so great. I'm just busting your chops because every time someone criticizes the team after a bad loss there's always a list of excuses for why they're wrong and no loss or bad performance seems to change that. A string of double digit wins against PSU, Neb and Rutgers (a combined 5-12 in B1G play) should provide a litany of reasons to get bulled up on the Spartans though.
Looking at the balance of the schedule, we should make the tournament because it's pretty light but anything beyond that isn't realistic.
