MSU @ Wisconsin

Deserved to lose that one.

The problem with this team is the constant line up switching. No one can get into a groove offensively. The lineups that Izzo puts out there are putrid.

Also blame that last play on Harris as much as you want and he does deserve it, but why do you draw up a play to inbound the ball in the corner of the court where you have nowhere to go? That's on Izzo again! Coaching has been subpar this year.

Harris panicked. They had 3 timeouts.

Who the fuck calls a foul on a fucking free throw box out
Ted Valentine. Why won't that asshole just die already. He makes it a goal each MSU game to screw Izzo with as many BS fouls as he can. Fuck that guy

I don't care how shitty the refs were (pathetic calls all game). How the hell are you stupid enough to dribble into the corner on a full court press and then not call one of the three timeouts you have left? That's just basketball basics and a lack of a basketball IQ.

Harris dribbled himself into the corner. we should have had a comfortable lead and been coasting shooting FTs the last 2 or 3 minutes. Izzo blew this game with the lineups.

I'm not sure but I don't even think we ran the baseline on that out of bounds play when we could. Needed the ball in Denzel's hands there.

Bess, Ellis, Wollenman should never touch the court.

Davis, Schilling, Costello should rotate with 25 (I forgot his name) coming in when foul trouble happens.

Harris, Tum, Mcquaid, Forbes, and Valentine rotation at the 1-3.

Thank me later Izzo!

Yep just always blame refs, that's how you keep comments smart. They got creamed by Iowa and just shit the bed against a horrible Wisconsin team.
You don't always blame the refs but the foul differential was astounding. Usually the team that gets in the lane and post more draws more fouls, this was the exact opposite.

A lot of it was bad luck, when a 65% ft shooting team shoots 85% if they shoot within a standard deviation of their average we win

One question, why have bess inbound the ball? Why not Costello or someone with more experience? The goal is to get it to dezel, he was open but bess hesitated.

Meh, teams hit rough patches in conference play sometimes, but if they are good teams, which we are, are usually able to pull themselves out of it.

With the way Iowa has sprinted out of the gate winning the Big Ten might be a longshot now, but the team still has a really good resume, lots of pieces, and a pretty good chance of grabbing a 3 seed or better in the NCAAs.

I guess I'm just pissed off that we're already revising expectations.

So you agree with my dumbest comment Sbee has ever read, that the team isn't playing well right now?

I think they played one horrible game against Iowa. Today's game was one of those "shit happens" kind of games that can often happen on the road in conference play more than a poor performance. The reffing sucked and the players didn't adjust to it, Koenig hit I don't know how many shots with a hand in his face and they were lights out from the free throw line on a day when they were getting a lot of attempts. This game reminded me of the Nebraska football game.

The crappy part was being up 4 with the ball and a minute left and not finishing, but that hasn't been an issue otherwise this season.

It makes the Maryland game at home a must win now. Get that along with presumably Nebraska at home prior to that and then go from there.

If the refs spot a team 10 points on the road you have to be nearly perfect in every other area. We hardly turned it over, out rebounded them, shot better, etc. It's just one stat that was laughably lopsided. We were even the aggressor getting to the rim more.

don't get me wrong - I blame izzo for this loss but I actually believe Ed Hightower and TV Ted have an anti MSU bias. still totally izzo's fault - hr knows he's not getting the edge on calls and can't afford to make stupid mistakes like playing certain lineups at all (i.e. any that feature wollenman, particularly him w/ Goins and Ellis) and sitting guys for too much and/or too long like he did w/ Harris and Davis
