Normalizing relations with Cuba

Almost nobody does. I sold cigars for a while, that's how I meant it.

JFK bought 1,000 Cuban cigars before he initiated the trade embargo the next day. No intel on how many he finished before his head was blown off.

I'm sure Batista took more than a few cases with him when he fled Havana, along with the millions $$$ he looted from the Cuban people (talk about "getting his"...)

hey, supposedly the Pope played some role in this move toward detente with Cuba. Another reason to hate that bleeding-heart liberal in the Vatican, right?

Last Christmas (I think it was) my uncle was all up in arms over his comments criticising the rich & business leaders. This might finally push him to leave the Catholic Church (he converted to marry my aunt)...

I don't think he can go back to Episcopalianism because of the gay Bishop they have now, so, maybe he'll become a Southern Baptist or join one of those Wal-mart-esque Non-denonmenational Megachurches.

I'm not opposed to this diplomatic step. And I question your uncle's commitment to the Catholic Church if the comments of a sitting pope causes him to defect, especially those that are not official comments.

One wrong followed by another one is the story here. Batista was as tyrannical as Castro. Kennedy himself assumed his due responsibility for Batista.

Diplomatic relations..that's what deal. So Cuban American's can see their families..how about letting people in Cuba leave without being shot. Or imprisoned..

And it was not stupid. Dealing with Castro, SCORE!!!

Yeah, it worked out well didn't it? oh wait..

You think this helps? Who does it help? Is he going to stop his dictatorship ways? Wouldn't surprise me if families of the Cubans came and visited Cuba were locked away. Maybe North Korea is next..Invite Kim to a lunch..

At least Michchamp can't blame the start of the embargo on a republican..because if it was he should would have.

... Is he going to stop his dictatorship ways? ...

Yeah! It's shocking how Cuba invades other countries, locks people up without a right to a fair trial or hearing, tortures them, allows its own politically-powerful class to go free, allows its police to oppress an entire class of its citizens, and suffers from such extreme disparities between the haves and the have nots.

Stop these dictatorship ways, Barack! I mean, Fidel...
