Detroit ? Another Tigers pitching prospect is set to make his major-league debut.
Manager AJ Hinch announced Monday that left-hander Joey Wentz, No. 12 on the team's list of prospects according to MLB.com, will start Wednesday's game against the Oakland A's at Comerica Park.
Wentz, 24, was acquired from the Atlanta Braves in the 2019 deal for Shane Greene, then missed all of 2020 to Tommy John surgery.

The Tigers are down three starters from the Opening Day roster: Right-handers Casey Mize (right elbow sprain) and Matt Manning (right shoulder inflammation) and left-hander Tyler Alexander (left elbow sprain).
Manager A.J. Hinch is turning to Wentz, a 6-foot-5 left-hander, as a short-term solution to fill one of the openings this week.

Tigers losing 2 - 0 as Miggy grounds out over second base and did he tweak a leg muscle/hammy?
 
Jonathan Schoop's line drive to 3B had a 105.3 mph exit velocity and .650 xBA. Kevin Smith caught it, stranding Austin Meadows at 2B and extending Tigers' scoreless streak to 19 innings.

This umpire is awful. Some of these calls are not close. That first pitch to JS was a foot low.

Oakland is now 25-3 since 2017 against Detroit as they break their 9 game losing streak.
Detroit has a 6 game losing streak.

Ump show happening in Detroit right now! This is ridiculous.
Javy Baez has been ejected. AJ Hinch was ejected. And the first called strike on Miggy was BRUTAL and he stared him down after calling it.

The Tigers and A?s will play a traditional doubleheader beginning at 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday at Comerica Park. Tigers lefty Tarik Skubal (1-2, 3.04 ERA) will face Oakland right-hander Frankie Montas (2-2, 3.44) in Game 1.

The second game, which will start about 40 minutes after the conclusion of the first, will be the second big-league start for Tigers right-hander Alex Faedo. The A?s have not yet announced their starter.

The A?s will officially be the home team for the opener, which is a makeup one of the games postponed due to the late start of the season.
