Both Howard and JG are tied with Thomas with .916 save percentage which is tied for 16th in the league right in the middle... Problem for Wing's is offense and lack of skill players to score in shootouts..

Offense is picking up... tonight's game was third in a row scoring 4 goals or more.
Our defense let their goalie down tonight..

Wings get 7 out of 10 points on the home stand.. tough way to lose no doubt though..

He really has been our saving grace with Howard not winning and hurt this year.. Tough to win shootouts when your guys can't score in them and you only give up 1..

Goal three and four were all on poor defensive work in my opinon..
his goal against is only 2.39 and he is 13-3-2 this year.
Howards is 2.66 and with a really poor record of
9-12-8.

Gustavsson looks shaky as hell in net to me, i just don't think he's good at all. he's slow to react and doesn't seem to see the puck all that well. Howard has had a bad season but he's a way better goaltender than Gustavsson.

Funny but I think Howard has regressed this year... Numbers show JG is playing a tad
better then Howard this year..

those are fair points, i just don't believe the Red Wings can win or even make the playoffs without Howard playing more like the Howard of old.

Yeah I hope he comes back soon... I much prefer JG playing only one game out of five also...And Howard playing the majority of the games.. I agree with you on making the playoffs or winning a round.. I want the playoff streak to continue but then again the Wings need a scorer really badly.... High draft slot or playoffs? I do want the playoffs? But still we just keep treading water right in the middle of the pack... we need real difference maker..

I think JG over-challenges shooters at short range. That's one observation. And it's especially odd given his size.
