Fothergill actually holds the record for most PH in a season (19) in 1929. Gator had 18 in 1968. Neun holds the record for most PH for a switch hitter.

Choose the Tigers all time pinch hitter!

So far:

Catcher- Pudge
First base- Hank Greenberg
Second base- Charlie Gehringer
Third base- George Kell
Shortstop- Alan Trammell
RF- Al Kaline
CF- Ty Cobb
LF- Willie Horton
Backup catcher- Bill Freehan

RHP- Justin Verlander
LHP- Hal Newhouser
The other starters- Mickey Lolich, Jack Morris, and Denny McLain
Closer- Willie Hernandez

Actually you need both Bob and Gates.. One batted right and one batted left.. Bob was a much better hitter then Gates..

His dad died from stepping on a rusty nail...

I voted for Gates Brown.
But I have a true story about Bob 'Fatty' Fotheregil.
Back around 1970 one of the older guys at the post office told me when he was just a kid about 8 years old was waiting for Fothergil to come out and ask him for an autograph. He goes, "Mr. Fothergill, can I have an autograph"? as he held out his program. Fatty gave him a 'face push' and kept walking.
geezus.

Wockenfuss and Champ Summers should be on the list before Kelly

I did this one in a hurry....kind of figured Gator would win in a walk.

I heard a similar story about Billy Crystal. Don't know if it is true or not. The Fothergil story is terrible.

I was disshed by Granderson at his White Caps game when he was rehabbing his broken fingers/hand. I was the last of around 50 people after batting practice waiting and being nice I let a bunch of kids go ahead of me.. By the time I was up he just looked at me and then the Caps personal said that's it..
dough!!!
