Preseason Game 4: Lions @ Bills Thread

We could win this 56-0 and I will be pissed off about how that first series went.

Final preseason game.

Nobody cares.

If Miguel Cabrera goes 0-1 with a K against a minor leaguer in the final preseason game....would you be pissed??

I don't think you can compare Stafford to Miggy just yet.

Replace Miggy with Torii Hunter and it's still stupid to get upset about it.

Stafford did nothing but take big shots and try to hit Nate on the outside a couple of times.

Vanilla play calling. Nothing worth discussing. They were more interested in hitting a home run and getting the 1s off the field than putting in a real series.

That series is a microcosm of the entire preseason. I keep hearing all this "vanilla play calling" stuff, so they're going to try actual plays for the first time in a game situation in week 1? Makes sense.

Stafford hasn't looked good all preseason. Idc what you want to blame.

Bah.. it's preseason. Where did going 4-0 in 2008 get us?

Same year the Pats went 0-4 and had a -33 point differnential, but they went 11-5 in the season and had a nice trip to the playoffs.

Preseason is absolutely meaningless.

Best part about this game for me is getting a longer look at Waddle. That kid might be our RT of the future, and he's playing well.

Why is Matt Willis not playing with the 1s?

He's on the bubble still? What you talkin 'bout Willis??

Worried about stafford, he was hot garbage the entire pre season, hill looks pretty good though

I agree no use getting hot and bothered over the preseason. Hopefully we get off to a fast start on the 8th and put it behind us.

Waddle looks good.

I'm betting he replaces Fox at RT sometime this season. He looks like the real deal to me. He helps open lanes well, and they are getting no pressure to the right side at all.

Didn't Warford play some Center in college? I didn't watch him, but I thought I heard that before.

If we could move Fox/Hilliard in to RG, and Warford at C, I'd sure feel pretty good about this lien with Rieff and Sims on the left side, and Waddle at RT.

In theory at least.

I never asked for wins. I'm specifically talking about Stafford. He hasn't looked good. Hopefully this is his funk and he tears it up next week and all season.

Buffalo has shit for depth apparently.

Fox struggles with bull rushes by DE's no way could handle DT's, hilliard might be able to but the backup G (whoever wins that job) would be a better fit.

When Stafford is running real plays, and the other WRs are facing thinner coverage with Calvin on the field, then I'll be worried if he looks like shit.

Right now, there is no creativity in the play calling, no big threat in Calvin, Bush wasn't even on the field tonight. I see no reason for concern.

You can paint a Yugo Ferrari red, and you can call it a Ferrari if you want, but if you expect it to run like a Ferrari, you're crazy. The 1s may have been on the field, but that was no the first string offense you got a look at in any game this preseason.

I missed the first half but it looks like the defense played well against the shittiest offense in the leagues second string.
