Presidential Rankings 2014

it would be nice if he dug a little deeper into history, instead of just going by the Time/Life narrative.

I mean... a middle school kid could've written this, yet this guy holds himself out to be a scholar and a historian.

How about starting out with a explanation of the methodology and criteria used to evaluate each President, while also including some basis to adjust for circumstances beyond the President's control & how he responded to those circumstances?

maybe I'm expecting too much from internet click-bait writing though.

Yes, you're expecting too much.

It's a stupid list about nothing important and people are getting all bunched up over it. Silly.

I'll start with the two Bushes, and then put in the two Johnsons to Harding, then Polk, Pierce and Fillmore.

I'll start with the two Bushes...

aside: I remember the real True Conservative Patriots (we call them Tea Partiers now, or NRA Nutjobs) hating the elder Bush. they were all freaked out by his "New World Order" comments. He even went so far as to resign from the NRA to distance himself from them. LINK.

ironically... his son's political adviser made a career out of later courting and pandering to these fools for their political support...

anyways, this is my list:

1. Ronald Reagan
2. George W. Bush
3. Sarah Palin
4. Warren G. Harding
t5. Calvin Coolidge
t5. George Washington
t5. Richard Nixon
8. Rutherford B. Hayes
9. William Howard Taft
10. Herbert Hoover

Communists:
FDR, Teddy Roosevelt, JFK, LBJ, Barack Hussein Obama, Bill Clinton, Eisenhower, Hillary

Highly Suspect:
George H. W. Bush

Keep in mind Americans didn't know much about the Soviet economy until it came down. It looked like Regan won the Cold War.

Quite true, not many people (if any) outside the Soviet Union knew they were going to collapse regardless of what we did, the thing they did well almost up to the end was put on a good show for the West (generally at the expense of everything else, hastening their collapse. kind of a positive feedback loop; gotta keep up the facade to keep the West from seeing how bad it is, thereby hastening the collapse, requiring more facade, ad infinitum.)

My real complaint is that people are still trumpeting "Reagan won the Cold War" 20 years after the fact and after its been proven false.
