Old people are hard to talk to or listen too.

Oh wait I am only 32 years away from 82 and worth a tad less then
Mr. I. He did sound garbled on the radio..

and I am 18 years away from Mr. Ilitch's age 82.
Guess I would surprise a few here with my voice and how I move around.
oh well, if you live long enough, you won't look or sound like the same person you were half a lifetime earlier.

My father is 80 with Alzheimer's and I'm more able to understand. I don't think he's aged well, even for 82.

Yea, thanks for putting this up Monster.

I watched the first 40 mins, even though I thought some of the questions asked were a bit "cupcake", and they let Leyland and Fielder off easy on a couple of questions.

I had to stop once Mr. I (much love to ya sir for what you have done for Detroit sports) started rambling about his wife, and looked like he was going to stroke-out any second.

Yes, also thanks for putting that up. I was stuck in class and didn't have a chance to watch :/ It was the only thing on my mind while it was going on though lol.

And I didn't think that Mr. I sounded as bad as you guys made him out to be...which might be why I didn't think he sounded that bad, because I was expecting the absolute worst. Maybe my church at home prepared me for older people that have trouble talking lol.

Also, I wonder if being in Detroit will help Prince and Cecil find their way back together. There doesn't seem to be the same type of anger that used to be there.

Anybody have an idea what # Prince will be wearing? I missed it if it was already mentioned. Would be cool if he wore his Dad's #.

Oh, and i'd throw it in Prince's wife. That broad is thick!!

Cupcake? Letting off easy? It was a presser to introduce him as a Tiger. It wasn't for drug abuse.

Since they don't speak to each other I doubt Prince wants his Dad's #.

Listening to that now I know exactly why he signed Prince. He doesn't give a fuck about years 5-9...and I don't blame him. He is doing what I always tell my dad to do...spend everything you have while you are here....I don't want a dime! I fully expect them to add a #2 or #3 type pitcher before the trade deadline. Illich is ALL IN for the next few years.

My favorite part was when the reporter asked Jaden what he though of his dad's new uniform...

Prince: "Tell 'em your name."
Jaden: "Just Jaden?"
Prince: "Well I'm pretty sure they know your last name."

LOL

A lot of people especially the callers on 97.1 were turned off by Prince's lack of answers but if you know much about Prince he never has been very talkative and he will not answer questions about his dad and I don't blame him. I dont have a relationship with my dad and if I am ever asked I dont say much either. He is here to hit plain and simple. Same with Miggy. I often wonder if the reason Miggy's accent is so strong is so he wont get asked questions.

Yea, cupcake.

How often does the media get to focus on 1 player with the hype that is going on?

They asked Prince twice about his role as 1st baseman, and if need be would he be open to sharing time with Cabrera, who the one guy basically came out and said is a better 1st baseman all around, and at first Prince was like yea, I'm a team guy...then reversed and realized he could not come out and say that yet (maybe Boras kicked him under the table?) and then said well we would have to sit down and discuss it.

Leyland dodged the question of "what if" Cabrera could not handle the transition to 3rd, but saying he's confident Miggy could, which could be interpreted as if Miggy fails as 3B Prince will have to DH.

I was not expecting them to grill the guys, but it seemed like the only real important questions (the same that have been asked over and over on this board) that needed answers, were kinda glossed over.

Again, that's not the presser for those questions. And what did you want JL to say "well if that happens we'll have a home run contest to determine who plays first". I've watched a lot of introduction pressers and they're all light.

I know they don't speak to each other, but a buddy of mine told me he was considering wearing his Dad's #. I was just curious....

Don't know how much stock I'd put into it, but Cecil said that he and his son's relationship is improving.
