Quin!

Quin said the weapons the Lions have on offense (including Reggie Bush) was a factor is his decision.

nice get....

Glover Quin - DB - Lions

Lions agreed to terms with SS Glover Quin on a five-year, $25 million contract.

We put "for real" in the headline because this deal was initially reported by ESPN, then withdrawn with the Texans reportedly jumping back into the mix. It's now been confirmed by Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official website. Quin, 27, is an effective run support safety whose cover skills have been overrated in some circles. He has some experience covering slot receivers, but it hasn't typically gone well. Quin did rack up 84 tackles, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles at strong safety in Houston last year. He'll be on the IDP radar as a DB2/3 with some upside behind a leaky Detroit front seven.

Nice, same deal as Houston. Won't be a killer contract. Same as Tulloch actually. 3 good contracts.

Levy deal is nice as well. 1.7 million, 3 million then 5 million. Really a 2 year deal for Levy.

ESPN radio has been talking about the lions all day. Jason Williams said on coach and company that the lions are now "one of the most talented teams in the NFL." I dont put too much into something a NBA guy says about an NFL team but its still nice to hear on national radio.

I really dont see us as being anything like that. We picked up a good safety resigned a good corner and signed a talented speed back to open up the pieces we already had. Oh and an ok DE. But this team still has glaring holes but we have definitely filled some better and faster then I thought possible. Mayhew has done a really good job so far.

Couple more corners would be nice. Man, I hope Fisher is still there at 5 (highly doubt) so we can trade down and get a couple extra picks. Build that defense. I guess I am not as high on Bush as everyone, however he does fit the scheme. I doubt he rushes for a 1000 but more interested in that screen pass and lighting up the hole. He is explosive no doubt. We need that guy on those side arm dink and dunks Stafford makes. No one respected the running game last year. Stafford has no business throwing 700 passes.

or 800 passes. The problem is reggie bush doesnt belong carrying the ball 300 times either.....dudes been hurt a ton. Hopeully they figure out a nice blend of throwing the ball, leshoure and Bush this year and arent forced into winging it so many times.

Agree. Most carries he year had was last year at 227. I'm thinking about 180 or so carries and 50-60 catches. But with this offense 180 seems like a lot because we're still a passing team.

Hopefully he can run the D ragged for 3 Q's and then have Leshoure come in and pound the rock to kill the clock for a W.

Not that anyone gives a shit but my popcorn is hot! Great deals all around. 4 mil, 5 mil contracts, what?! The dude still can't draft for beans in my book, but the Mayhew's trying to put together a winner. Props to the faithful.

I wonder if this game had anything to do with the Lions wanting Quin? Oh yeah, and the 3 TFL by Quin were tackles of Adrian Peterson. Didnt see that guy go down much behind the LOS last year

http://espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=321223034

12/24/12 - S Glover Quin had an outstanding game against Adrian Peterson. Quin played like an extra linebacker, giving the Texans another player in the box. He registered 10 unassisted tackles. He threw Peterson for losses on three plays.
