Well you could tell how much Winnipeg loved him.

They kept talking him up before the game, even played a video tribute to him. Which granted isn't much, but we are talking about a guy who played only a handful of NHL games.


Detroit did something similar with Frk. Lost him on waivers to Carolina, than picked him up on waivers from Carolina. A little more direct route.

Couldn't find anything.

However, Gretzky did have his white TITAN stick so rules out when he was in the WHA (used a KOHO there).

So at earliest around 1980.

It had to be 1980 to sometime in 1986. Hank Greenberg passed September 4 of that year.
