Oh, cool, the game is on national TV...I'll be able to watch most of the first and most of the third periods...

Abdulkater power play goal early in the 5 minute OT gives the Wings the 2-1 win.

Good; it seems to me the Wings kind of suck in shootouts.

They do suck in shootouts. Glad to see they pulled it out was out helping my son hang outdoor light fixtures.

I think we need to try and miss Tampa Bay if at all possible in round one..

I missed it live but Justin broke his stick on his goal.. I think before he even hit the puck.. Or at the same time for sure..

Couple thoughts...stick was in the process of breaking for certain, seems like it starts breaking when it hits the goalie. The break point though is where Abs' hand is, so it is difficult to determine the degree to which it is broken at that point. it is definitely beginning to flop though, and Abs did a great job of holding it mostly together to make it impossible to see the degree to which it is broken.

would it have been disallowed upon a review? my thought is yes, due to the angle the stick has at one point, it seems to be sufficient enough to declare the stick was completely broken when he made the shot.

as many times as the Wings have been hosed by calls over the years, this sure seems like a hose job to the Blues. couple the broken stick goal with the puck off the face goal and I can understand Blues fans being upset with how this game turned out.

at this point I'm not certain the Wings can win in the playoffs regardless of who they play. conversely, I don't see any team as being so dominant as to make me think the Wings don't have a prayer against them. Wings are so up and down, they could win or lose against any of the teams.
