We do have 5 of espn top 50 prospect in our system . Pretty amazing from where we pick at most years..

I'm talking about the future of this team, not the past. Yes it was incredible that datsyuk and zetter berg turned out to be diamonds in the rough. This current team is not very good. They struggle badly to score goals and the defensive core just isn't good enough. This 10 game stretch coming out of the break will make or break this team. A 3 or 4 game losing streak and this team is in trouble.

Only cause they are in the tougher east.. even if that happens they will make it up somewhere. Yes we need more goals and better defense. Most of us have been saying it for a long time. But I really think we can rebuild without bottoming out.

I never said I want them to bottom out, but missing the playoffs to get some better draft picks for the future wouldn't be the end of the world. I'm getting sick of them just slipping into the playoffs just to lose in the 1st round.

Well unfortunately in the east there will be probably 3 or 4 teams with decent records who miss the playoffs. We Are Talking JUST A Few Spots Higher IN The Draft Which Probably Does NoT Mean Much. . Heck with how good the east is you may get your missing the playoff wish..
