Ron Paul tweets racist cartoon

so I should've said "some percentage of their savings" not just "their savings?"

No. That is still so hyperbolic that it's silly.

I went to his websites, and it looks like he puts out his newsletters on line for free.

Here is a link to books by Ron Paul at Amazon. Most are less than ten bucks.

Nobody is going to have dip into their savings to buy those.

I suspect he gets support from a few racists because I think he's made some statements about not worrying and all the splintered rights of various groups (like minorities) and instead he pushes for individual rights, which would cover all the splinter groups in a perfect world. You could see this as an 'all lives matter' approach, except he's also specifically talked about how African Americans are disproportionally impacted by policies like the war on drugs.

He was quoted quite some time ago as saying he would have been opposed to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 - there are links to him saying this all over the internet.

He said it's because of the act's constitutionality and its violation of property rights.

So there's that.

I didn't think Ron Paul was relevant any more. This thread proves I was very wrong.

He has a small, small niche audience still.

Besides that I don't think he gets much attention, except he did get a little attention over this.

I recall reading about a decade ago, that he and his supporters had held the first named "Tea Party" rallies, which then later was appropriated by Dick Armey and wealthy backers to create the astroturfed Tea Party, which attracted evangelicals and other denominations of xtian conservatives, all who wished to distance themselves from being associated with Bush junior and his neocon administration.
