I believe the correct form of "smite" there would be either "smitten," or "smote," but definitely not "smited."

It's an obscure term, for sure. I like it, but you just know people are going to struggle with it here.

I would have thought it was "smut..."

As in "Doofus McGillicuddy started a NASCAR thread on the Tiger board...so I smut him..."
