RW in contract talks with Daniel Cleary

Well hopefully you will be proven wrong X.. Even you would like that.. Wins and a deeper playoff run...

Of course I would like to be wrong, but do you honestly believe burying Jurco in the minors for Dan Cleary makes the Wings a better team? And to top it off he has a NTC and gets a 1 million $ bonus for playing 10 games. This contract is a JOKE from every conceivable angle.

If KH didn't bury Nyquist last year we likely get a better matchup in the 1st round and maybe have a deeper run, the same thing is happening here with Jurco. it's complete BS.

Heard Dennis Fithian say that Ken Holland is "Trolling Red Wing fans" with the signing of Quincey and Cleary. It really does feel that way. Akin to when Ford gave Millen the second contract.

Signing unpopular players to alienate a fan base is exactly what any competent GM would do to ensure success. Even Holland is not that inept. There's actually underground information that suggests that Holland does not want Cleary on the team and Babcock is the driving force in retaining him. Why Holland would accede to that is another topic.

Great a power struggle between the Coach and Gm... Just what we need :/
Get some balls Kenny and stand up to your coach..

It was said "tongue in cheek" for sure but it seemed to sum up the way I (and friends) felt about the signings.

I think there was much at play. Perhaps Babcock felt his name was part of the handshake agreement with Cleary (who knows what they talk about) and Babcock thinks Danny will be great on his new staff in Toronto.

Something very weird is happening - everybody can see it coming given contract statuses but nothing can happen until the first domino falls, that being Babcock's extension or lack thereof.
