Sandberg Resigns as Philadephia's Manager

Hall pedigree didn't help Sandberg
Ryne Sandberg was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame for his illustrious career as a second baseman with the Cubs. But that history didn't help him as the Phillies manager. Sandberg posted the fifth-worst winning percentage among managers who were previously Hall of Fame players (min. 200 games).
WIN% YEARS
Bobby Wallace .287 1911-12, 1937
Bid McPhee .389 1901-02
Dave Bancroft .407 1924-27
Billy Herman .408 1947, 1964-66
Ryne Sandberg .428 2013-15

Alan Trammell, not in the hall, would be 2nd

186-300 .383 2003-05, 2014

Trammell was a great player but was a horrible manager. Any manager that takes the crap he did from Pudge Rodriguez is not a manager. Trammell had no balls.
