Sure it happens. I just doubt people vote for someone based on that. JFK got in because of the mob. What about the ones who don't like Taylor Swift do they vote the other way?

I expect that the main reason for celebrity endorsements is to energize those who already support "their" candidate to actually go to the polls and cast a vote. Or mail one ... or several ... ballots in.
