Stafford in Walking boot

Oh I'm not blaming him. I just find it amazing that we have one of the best receivers in football on this team who is a freak of nature and the other 2 receivers that play can only get a combined 1 catch for the game. That 1 catch also was kinda a little bubble screen that was thrown behind the line. When a guy demands double teams almost every passing play you would think the other receivers would get more involved.

Profootballtalk.com reports that Matthew Stafford will undergo an MRI on his injured right leg Monday.
An MRI will be performed on both Stafford's right knee and right ankle. "It takes a tank to keep him out," a source told Stafford, who is reportedly "optimistic" he'll come out of the testing okay. The Lions play the Broncos in Week 8. Our tentative expectation is that Stafford will be in the lineup.

Doesn't really matter, Stafford is going to end up on the IR eventually with this O-line.

both tackles are just plain God awful. are the poor mechanics a sign he is getting a little bit gunshy to stand in there with the potential to take another hit? he's been damn near murdered weekly. and it isn't like he's holding onto the ball forever. he gets like 2-3 seconds and someone is usually on him.

one of the nicer hits yesterday came when Abraham destroyed Backus first and then proceeded to wallop Stafford.

2-3 seconds should be plenty of time if I'm being honest. You guys see the clip of brees getting clocked and how fast he gets the ball out. some of them were less than a sec. part of ot is our shitty play design, part of it is stafford isnt good at all in the pocket, and ya....our tackles blow.

Because against the Colts they were all open right away. Brees is good but not that good, the Colts were complete shit.

And they have a better running game. There is a threat there so another guy in the box.

Sproles was a great signing.

And the hits keep coming at Bush. Looks like Sproles is filling the role to a T but instead of those juke for 2.5yds he actually gets yards in chunks. Reggie has to feel like some bullshit right about now lmao. Between Kim, getting ditched by the saints, and getting ditched by the dolphins it's a pretty bad year for him.

He's on one of my fantasy teams. He was a late pick too. I thought he'd be my 3rd or 4th back but he's been big.

I'd actually like to know if the receivers are even getting open. It's difficult to see what's happening downfield on TV seconds after the ball is snapped for most of the plays. Is Stafford just hesitating or does he have nowhere to throw to? Anyone that went to these last two games, could you shed some light on the subject?

Playcalling, good coverage, lack of a run game, and yes guys were getting open on some plays and Staff missread it or was inaccurate or the pocket collapsed. The blame goes all around. But since you're asking, no, receivers were not blanketed, there were openings on a lot of plays.

Stafford miss on about 9 throws against Atlanta. The other 8 were tipped at line, drops, Young running wrong route, a couple good throws but breakups by the Falcons. Mixture of everything going wrong. Redzone woes were sacks and a Calvin drop.

The Calvin "drop" was a very bad throw by Stafford, way behind him

I counted the Calvin drop in the endzone as a bad throw. The Calvin drop on 2nd and 7 from the 20 was a Calvin drop.

Not blaming Calvin for the loss or one drop. But I wouldn't put that play negatively against Stafford. Stafford missed short on the deep ball to Calvin and threw behind him in the redzone once. Calvin would have had 3 TDs if Stafford would have made better throws.
