There was a lot of shit talking on Stafford this off season due to footwork, mechanics and accuracy. I have to say I know its two preseason games but he has looked pretty damn sharp.

I think of any fanbase the Lions one would be wary of reading into any preseason success stories. Meanwhile the shit talking was well warranted as Stafford over the course of the season left a lot of winning plays on the field and threw in a dose of losing ones too. I'm upbeat on him with everything he's got at his disposal and 3 coaches signed just for him. I think he can turn back the clock to 2011 but let's wait a few weeks (likely more than 8 since we were 6-2 before the implosion) to start posting I told you so's.

did you watch at all last year? Stafford loses games in the 4th quarter duh...were lucky we pulled him when we did! So youre saying our depth sucks? Oh weird....who woulda thunk it.

I never called for his head. I said he needs to play like he gets paid or else hes hurting the team. Being the highest paid qb in the league this year and continuing to play like the 16th best qb in the league hurts your team no matter how people want to spin it....that is a level headed comment. He sucked down the stretch last year....does anyone not named lkp disagree?....therefor that's a level headed comment.

I wasn't insinuating that you called for his head, sorry if it came acrossed that way. The point was you are the most negative Lion fan (would you disagree?) and LKP is the most positive Lion fan. Some of us are in between was the point I was going for.

Vs. the Raiders..

We all want him to do well but a few drives against the Raigers isn't all Sun and roses times..

people can try to diagnose the preseason all they want. But people are fighting for jobs and trying to impress new coaches....theyre trying out there....hard. And its led to sucking vs the browns for most the game and losing to the raiders.

Ive watched both games and thusfar im happy with the way the offense is coming together ...they are further along than I thought but its kinda scary that the run game has sucked. If youre Bush ill say its tough to look good in the run game when you don't get a high number of touches though.

Defense hasn't looked very good. Not much pressure which leads to secondary looking subpar. Ansah might help a little....but the offseason thusfar has taught us that once we need to start rotating guys in....they aren't going to do much. Defense and depth will be an issue again this year...like it was last year...cause our gm doesn't really address the teams problems.

Starters vs starters the Lions have looked good. You can argue are depth is lacking. But both games the other teams kept starters and second teamers in longer than we did.

what would most people say is the strength of our team? Offense right?

Most people would say that minnesotas offense sucks? right?

Did you know Minnesota only scored 4 fewer points than us last year? With all their qb problems....starting freeman for a couple games, cassel, ponder etc.....they finished the year with 4 fewer points than us.

So just to recap....the strength of our team....offense....in one of the worst divisions in football....scores 4 more points than Minnesota.

Now am I being negative....or am I just telling you a realistic version of what happened?

I think for the most part you're accurate but you go a bit overboard in some respects. But since the Lions have been a shit show for 50+ years, I can't blame you to be honest.
