Syracuse

0-15 on our last 15 three point attempts. Team choked, had all the open looks in the world and choked.

Loss is on Izzo, team played tight all second half of the year. They're too afraid to make mistakes. Izzo squandered this talent. Waste of a season.

And Carter plying 23 minutes while JJJ and Ward played 15 and 16 each is a fucking joke.

With all the shit that went on this year(even though most of it was outside the program or nonsense), part of me is glad this season is over.

Now it will be interesting to see what this team will look like next year.

As long as Izzo is coach, we'll play well and then choke when it comes to good teams and UM. I'm pretty much over MSU basketball until Izzo is gone. He keeps wasting talent and won't update his coaching style.

so next year, we have Winston with McQuaid, Langford, Tillman and possibly Ward? Even if there was a chance Bridges stayed, how much would he really contribute anyway?

Well we get Ahrens back lol

.....and he'll get a redshirt for this year. So we'll have another wasted scholarship for 2 more years instead of 1.

great, another mediocre white kid with a potentially chronic foot problem - can anyone say Russell Bird? Was Ahrens home schooled?

Why was Carter in for so many minutes. Were Jackson and Ward in foul trouble? I know a lot of fouls were called but these guys are so much better then Carter !!

They will be a better team without bridges next year. What was he 2-15 today? If Ward comes back they need to just run the pick and roll with him and Winston next year....every frickin play

They were collapsing the box, though. State wasn't making enough passes to get guys out of position.

they were making plenty of passes - everytime Carter caught the ball inside the foul line, you had room to move. If he took it the rim (or if it was someone other than him who could), he's going to draw a foul on at least a few of those times. the defense was decent but not great - we got Langford and Bridges open for 3s all night, they could have moved the ball inside against guys with 4 fouls.

maybe, but that doesn't mean they will be good. And I'm not sure that's true - Bridges shot well most of the season. He also played with little or no heart at times but his shooting only hurt them tonight - there were plenty of nights he shooting was what got them past mediocre teams.

The team won't be better next year unless some guys improve defensively as JJJ covered up for a lot there. Somehow Izzo and Ward (if he bothers to stick around) need to come to some sort of understanding regarding what is expected. Tillman will be good, but Tillman and Ward have a lot of similarities and teams with perimeter oriented 4's will still be a big problem (and no Goins filling that spot doesn't give me optimism). The freshmen class is decently rated, but at this point those players figure to be depth more than providing major contributions in year 1.

They should be a top 20 team, but I'll leave it at that.

Bridges as a lottery pick is the biggest joke. How the hell does no one see that??

I wonder if he's even ready for the NBA. He has the tools but is he consistent enough as a shooter to be an NBA stretch three? If he can't take college 3s off the dribble, how is he gonna manage in the NBA if he is prone to being taken out of rhythm? Can he defend NBA 3s?

I'd expect Ward to come back, Jackson to go, if we have one of those two we will be a very good team, big ten title contender, etc. I think Aherns will make some contributions as well, decent player, played his entire sophomore year out of position, sat out this year. We'll have shooters, a good PG, and hopefully some post scoring.
