Congratulations to B311j for his prediction for the UMass game and honorable nod to Hungry's very close prediction.

Well, for the fifth or sixth time in the last decade, "Notre Dame is back!"

Coming off a thrilling snoozefest in Lansing and drubbing of Lil' Brother, Notre Dame returns to the glory of TD Jesus' shadow to play the University of Michigan. Michigan comes in 2-1 and ranked #18 while the undefeated Irish shot up ten spots to #11 because ....well, they're Notre Dame.

Pre-season opening lines had the Irish favored by the token homefield ND -3.5 but that has jumped to a full touchdown, now a Vegas consensus of ND -6

Over/Under is 51.5 points

*** EDIT: As of WEDS EVE: The Line has moved DOWN as it would seem folks thought laying 6 was too much for ND. The new consensus line is Noter Dame -4.5 and an O/U of an even 51.
As of THURS EVE: The Line has moved back up to Noter Dame -5.
UPDATE: The consensus line opening the week was ND -5 and moved to -6, but is back at -5
***

Please post your prediction with a brief explanation if you wish, but keep the other content for other threads (notice how I classed it up for this thread by referring to the Irish by its proper and not earned name, for posterity and in deference to MGeezer)

I will submit my prediction later in the week, but wanted to get the thread up.

Nice post there Vic, I'm sure it was tough keeping it clean this week.

This is difficult as we normally get ND early and I think have caught them offguard in recent years. Now both teams should be kicking at full throttle. Still both teams have shown the ability to struggle on O and D, so as usual with ND there will likely be some crazy moments.

Slow start has ND ahead at half but UM comes out kicking tail to victory.

UM-36
ND-24

I may get killed for this but I am not feeling good about this game. I dont like how our defense is playing up the middle.

NDSucks 27
U of M 21

If MSU had won, ND would beat Michigan but because of MSU's no show:

UM 38, ND 12

Ugh. Confidence has been shaken. I hope i'm wrong...
UM - 14
Leaping Leprechauns - 27

I would predict something along the line of ND 28, UM 23... but I can't bring myself to do that.

ND actually looked pretty damn good last week. Irish by 4.

ND. - 38

UM. - 34

As stated on ESPN today the ND secondary is beat to shit!! They have a converted RB playing in the secondary and another freshman playing now that they lost one of their better safteys. So i really like our chances with Gallon, Rountree, Dileo, and Gardener against that secondary. And really like Funchess against their LB's and young safteys. DROB should have a pretty good night through the air. And that will only open up the running game. Look for another HUGE game for Robinson against ND. Now on the defensive side of the ball im not as confident, the DLINE isnt very good. The secondary is weak especially without Countess! This is going to be another shootout!! But i think UM (like last year) win this one late.

that matchup between Michigan's WRs and ND's secondary could be a game-changer... as long as we can get our guys the ball effectively, of course... no more dumb INTs.
