The Official THE GAME Game Thread

It was a stupid f'n playcall

they had 3 minutes to go down the field. You want to score with no time on the clock. Instead they go for it all on the very first play with a QB that can't throw the ball downfield.

horrible!

I agree 100% on the playcall.

just not sure who's fault the INT was.

i guess it doesn't really matter. I was sick of losing this game in 2007... ten years later, I'm just numb.

because Okorn is horrible and everyone knows that except Harbaugh, Drevno, and Hamilton.

Yeah but wilton speights regression this year was a troubling sign as well. This is on the coaching staff, you don't have a passing game that looks worse than lesser programs when you're michigan unless you're coaching poorly.

Agree with this. No reason to throw that pass downfield on the first play. Put a scoring drive together to eat the clock and score with little time left on the clock. Whoever called that play should get a good kick in the ass. It was ill advised and there were two defensive backs just standing back there waiting for it. How did Harbaugh allow that play call?

It was obviously okorn, the buckeyes were playing 3 safeties deep essentially. There was so much room underneath it was absurd. Kekoa sat in the zone and John for some reason thought it was a good idea to just throw it up for grabs.

This. There wasn?t even a receiver in sight. The safety almost looked confused

People bitching about the call because it didn't work is classic hindsight. It's a knee jerk reaction. If we ran the ball and got stuffed three straight times we'd be bitching about why we didn't open the playbook up with so little time left and nothing to lose.

If the play was executed properly there was a good sizeable gain to be had. That breeds a lot of confidence and life not only into the players but into the crowd as well.

O'Korn just botched it. Or the receiver ran the wrong route, but from what i've been hearing O'Korn just made the wrong read.

Any call that leaves a receiver open in the middle of the field with nobody around him in like a 20 yard radius is a great call.

Yeah, Speight wasn't looking great on the pass this year. Worse than last year. QBs should not regress from year to year. One reason Hoke was removed was because Gardner regressed badly in his last year. One of the reasons Harbaugh was hired was to develop the QBs. He better get on it. When a freshman QB comes in and makes your defense look silly, and your QBs all look mediocre at best, it is on the coaches. You can't blame it on inexperience, not knowing the playbook.....

Let's not forget that the defense, also, shit the bed today

31 points! 17 with a backup QB in there. They got carved up!

John read it wrong.

Crawford sat the route down in the zone .

John botched that last play.

No reason at 2:47 left to throw it deep with that much time left .
Underneath was open .

Only deep passes john should is in madden football. Or sideline passes like the one to mcdoom.

The defense sort of epitomized the whole team this season. We all thought they were pretty good, but at the end they were pretty overrated and couldn't come through when it counted.

Isn't classic hindsight at all. On 1st down there with 70 yards and 3 minutes to go, who was thinking it was a good idea to go 30 yards downfield with a play? When has that been a good idea all season? I was ready for them to run the football, which they had been doing well, and then dink and dunk their way down the field to try to score with less than 25 seconds left on the clock

No fan in their right mind was sitting there thinking, I hope they get this all in one play here.

If it had worked, it would've been a freakin' miracle

Exactly! It was greedy and stupid. Totally unnecessary. It?s not understanding the situation at hand

Don Brown's defense is so overrated its not funny .

Yep, right now in his first year. I guess he played a bit in their previous game, when the game was out of reach. Today was his first real game play and he looked better than any of the QBs Michigan has played this year.
