The Right's "Useful Idiots" in action

The headlines tell a bit of the story:

"Pro-gun activists threaten to kill state lawmaker over bill they misunderstood"

and

"Death Threats Will Force Virginia Lawmaker To A Safe House During Pro-Gun Rally"

Lee Carter of Virginia is the only avowed socialist lawmaker in a southern state (and a USMC veteran). He's been getting death threats pretty much as a general rule for years, but lately they've been taken to an extreme level.

As the 2nd article explains:
... The threats against Carter?a Democratic Socialist first elected in 2017?also show how an echo chamber of conspiracy theories that begin as social media posts get laundered into mainstream outlets like the Wall Street Journal, and can ultimately lead to real-world peril.
...
This situation stems from a fundamental misunderstanding about a bill he reintroduced, which would allow public sector employees to go on strike. For at least the past 70 years, engaging in work stoppages would automatically be considered a resignation for Virginia employees, without the possibility of getting rehired for a year. Carter?s bill, inspired by teachers? strikes across the country, would change that policy.
...
But the intent of the bill, and the fact that law enforcement currently are not allowed to strike, has been lost. Instead, it has been lumped into a broader category of bills that gun-rights advocates and far-right groups [editor's note: the "Useful Idiots" I was referring to] allege are designed to take away their freedoms after Democrats won control of the General Assembly in November. ...

Social media posts began erroneously characterizing Carter?s legislation as trying to make sure police enforce gun control legislation on threat of being terminated from their jobs, in concert with Northam (?who I?m not particularly a fan of,? Carter notes). An article in Law Enforcement Today alleges that Carter?s bill is trying to ?punish police,? and pro-confederate group the Virginia Flaggers tweeted that the bill would allow the commonwealth to ?fire law enforcement officers if they won?t enforce unconstitutional gun laws.? Ultimately, those claims made their way into a Wall Street Journal editorial, which said that a Virginia lawmaker ?introduced a bill that requires firing police officers who don?t enforce a gun statute.?
All this is even dumber because Carter is on the record opposing "red flag laws" and his record on gun control is more "Conservative" than "Liberal"

BUT... if you're pro-business (i.e. anti-worker) you DO NOT WANT public sector employees - or any employees - to have strike protections under the law.

If you can get deformed mutants like Gun Nuts and other conspiracy mongering types to threaten to kill lawmakers simply by telling them a pro-worker bill is actually intended to "TAKE YOUR GUNS"... so much the better. So I find it hard to believe the Wall Street Journal made an "innocent mistake" here. Fuckers.

How the sausage gets made...

Now Alex Jones is there, one of the leaders of the useful idiots, rallying his mutant followers to threaten violence because public sector workers might have their rights to strike for better wages protected at law.

even FDR knew public sector unions were a bad idea. you people just keep getting dumber and dumber...

Cause the Useful Idiots threatened to kill him and posted his address online.

RTFA!

But during the rally, they?ll all be at the rally.

Also, the topics in this thread and in the links are all over the place.

You got 2nd Amendment proponents with public employee groups, which I would have thought would have all been in unions for decades already...

Don?t really see what the two have to do with each other...

No wonder there?s confusion...

Another Useful Idiot... a MSU education down the drain.

RTFA... The bill allows public sector workers to strike. it has nothing to do with unions. prior VA law did not allow workers to strike without automatically considering it a resignation.

Here?s an update from earlier today from our friends at Fox News - does anyone know who the hot blonde in the video clip is?

Apparently Carter is a former marine.

Also today is Lobby day in the Commonwealth apparently-groups lobby the VA gov?t for various causes.

Wouldn?t it be funny if a group got together and lobby to get rid of ML King day?

EDIT: The three major cable news networks are talking about Prince Harry, the Super Bowl, and impeachment right now. I guess there?s not a whole lot of action going on in Virginia.

I've watched zero coverage of this, not even alex jones clips about it. The drudge report is most definitely no longer pro trump. His viewership is down 30% as a result. I'm not sure but suspect I know why he turned on Trump. Trump just simply hasn't done enough to stand up for those that helped get him elected, and to curb the massive anti free speech censorship running a muck. He turns his back on everyone at the slightest hint of trouble for him. It's not cool man.

It's very depressing. we're going to end up with dem election fraud clean sweeping trump right out of office and the next decade is going to be pure hell for everyone as the econ tanks into the greatest depression the world has ever known. I told y'all four years ago to enjoy the next 4 years as that'll be it before everything goes to hell in a hand basket. It was a valiant effort but in the end, trump wasn't able to take down the deep state in large part IMO, because he didn't do enough to stand up and fight for those that tried to help him. Drudge like a pussy went the ol can't beat em join em route. sad..

This is an incoherent rant.

Cool, here's another one for ya

According to the latest in physics, the world emerges spontaneously, out of nothing, and constitutes a multiverse, where anything that can happen will happen, and it will happen an infinite number of times. although much of quantum physics can be proven on a theoretical basis, the problem is it doesn't describe the world in which we live.

You're supporting the wrong guy. If we had universal healthcare, you could finally get the mental health therapy you need.

This is one of the main reasons I can?t support any of the dems we are in complete disagreement on HC, universal HC will be used as one of the tools to enslave humanity

Anyway, reports are that the rally is over and it ended peacefully.

So I guess we could say they dodged a bullet.

You?re the only useful idiot here buying this propaganda hook line and sinker and starting hysterical threads over nothing. How many right wing useful idiots carried out violent attacks at the protest? You have a lot of nerve busting tigermud?s chips about info wars when you constantly post this bullshit. You are the definition of a useful idiot.

Much to michchamps chagrin? What should we do now turn this into some sort of incoherent rambling thread.

Maybe just remember this, the next time billionaire funded Super PACs spread rumors among mutants to get them to come out in force to intimidate lawmakers passing bills they don't like.

Did I say they would carry out violent attacks? Was that even the point of this thread? Chill out. I'm not hysterical. They're dumb. You're dumb. I don't "constantly post" threads like this.

Talk about hysterical...

Chill out. Grab yourself a Bud Light. Open the swimsuit issue. Relax.

Maybe the tune networks just like to hype shit up for ratings, like i said ididn?t even bother to follow it and don?t know or care to know the backstory. Starting to care less and less about pretty much everything, Nothing much excites me except maybe incoherent ranting and future time lines. Most of which are not good, it?s a curse

Do you have any hobbies? Not watching Alex Jones videos, but actual, healthy hobbies... building model airplanes, woodworking, gardening, etc. Maybe take one up?
