THJ Announcement Today

Marcus Smart is returning to OK State for his sophomore season. If he is returning, Glenn should definitely be returning. Smart was Big 12 POY.

I love Tim, but i think gr3 and mitch are more important right now. Still, i hope he stays.

I just don't understand the point of him leaving for the NBA. He is going to be a 2nd round pick no matter if he leaves this year or next. Might as well get the degree and then go. Him having a long career in the NBA is doubtful. Finishing his degree on scholarship makes the most sense.

2 scholarships for the 14' class?

I'd think they'd be opened up for the '13 class, since the scholarships that opened up were or Burke and Hardaway. But I don't know if we'll use them for this year, might save them for '14

Yep, unless JB pulls a rabbit out of his hat, we'll have at least 2 open scholarships this fall now. Any player that declares will open up another one. These will typically be awared to a walk-on for the season if they don't get any transfers or late recruits. Michigan played last season with 12 actual scholarship players, I don't know how was given the 13th.

Yep open for the '13 season. Here's a nice breakdown of the scholarship situation from UM Hoops.

Unless somebody else leaves hopefully they're done with 2013 recruiting. Unless it's a decommit

In all probability, none of Robinson, McGary, Stauskas nor Albrecht will play their senior season at Michigan.

Likely Robinson and McGary will be leaving after next season, presuming they're here next season.

Will Spike have retired from college basketball to devote his full attention to his new wife, Kate?

Huh? I'm thinking Stauskus and Albrecht stay for 3 more years. I guess I could be wrong, but I don't see either one leaving early.

Have to put an asterisk next to A. Hatch. He might never play for the basketball team. They might put him on medical scholarship, but that isn't going to count against the limit.

I don't see how on earth Albrecht would be leaving early. He is not going to be playing in the NBA.
