They guy never made more than 5 when he WAS healthy. Now we give him almost 8 for, at best, 40 innings. We rarely spend money and when we do it makes no ****ing sense.

Maybe but a 1 year deal that won't hurt anything. 1 year deals are golden. 4m, 8m or 15m - doesn't really matter. It's pizza pizza family.

so, this is their off season so far.

Added a 37 year old pitcher who has had recent injuries that wanted to retire

Added a 34 year old relief pitcher with an even worse injury history

Added a second baseman to replace their young 2B because he is bad defensively...but the guy they replaced him with is just as bad. OH, and the old 2B was moved to 1B, a position that he has never played. AND, this is the same guy that they gave a long term contract to "lock him up" to play a middle infield position for the next 7 years, not 1B.
