The Tigers are 4 games behind the Angels for the last wild card spot with 4 teams ahead of us.

Can the Tigers win just their second series since the all-star break? The Tigers are 47-25 when they score 3 runs or more, 9-35 when they don?t.

Boyd has a 2.97 era in his 2 Tiger starts. Both starts were against KC. He took the loss and threw 5.1 innings and gave up 9 hits and 3 runs in his last start against them.

Fiers will be making his 3rd start and is still seeking his first win as an Astro since being traded from the Brewers. He was roughed up in his Astros debut against Texas but bounced back nicely against the A?s in his last start. He threw 6.2 innings and gave up 5 hits and 1 run. He faced the Tigers as a member of the Brewers back on May 18th. He got a no decision after he threw 5.2 innings and gave up 6 hits and 2 runs.

Current Tigers are hitting 6 for 22 (.273) with 2 doubles and a triple against Fiers. Miggy is 1 for 3 with a triple, JD is 2 for 3, Gose is 1 for 3 and Rajai and McCann are each 1 for 2. The Tigers have now scored 2 runs or less in 14 of their last 22 games.

The Astros have never faced Boyd. The Astros have hit the most home runs in mlb off of lefties (45) this season but they have hit just .138 against lefties since Aug 3rd.

Today's weather forecast for Houston calls for cloudy skies with temperatures touching 89 degrees around first pitch. There's a 35 percent chance for rain.

Manchild, I want to thankyou big time for doing the whole season of Tigers games.

Just like the start of 2014 when I asked you and a few other regular posters if you could do them, and a week before this 2015 season started when I asked you and a few other posters, you took it upon yourself this year to do just about every game up to this point of the season.

For me, after doing the game threads for so many years from espn to before 2014, when my schedule changed, it was a relief that you were able to take over this year.

Best of luck and success with your new job. Hopefully it allows you to get into some of the game threads.

You guys who I sent a message to before the 1st game, if any of you can take over when MC's schedule changes with his new job, or if someone else can get the game thread going an hour before game time will be great for all who follow.
One thing I ask, once a game thread is posted, I am asking we don't have another 1 or 2 posted thereafter for the same game. If you see it's up, no sense to post another.

Different lineup for opposing pitchers to far with Miggy and Victor in.

Good first inning from the offense, miggy with his 480th career double

Victor damn it all.. You twice swung at ball four to load the damn bases...

Then freaking JD K's and now we need a damn 2 out hit... fudge muffins..

JD is hacking way too much again victor swung at ball four twice and what should have been a big inning goes nowhere

Boooooo

OMG
That half inning is the Tigers season in a nut-shell... Runners on first and second and no outs and out hitters fail to deliver with this clown on the ropes not throwing strikes... Apparently JD cannot pick up the ball in this dome... Victor's at bat was putrid... He should have walked...

Only 4 homers verses LHP and two off of Boyd today..

PLEASE FIRE JEFF JONES.... He is one awful pitching coach...
