Tigers extend Avila's contract

I have commented several times on topics that they have posted on their Wordpress blog, and a few were trimmed by a sentence or so...well okay...but the last one that I made today, wasn't long but had altered/edited content AND removed the last sentence...never again...that crossed my line and kinda pissed me off. Maybe I needed to heap praise upon the duo's journalistic chops, like many others who comment there often do.

I think the Totally Tigers limits you to 4 sentences daily, maybe once a month they allow 8 sentences.

The most insidious aspect of Avila's extension signing, was its timing..near the ASB and amidst a long national holiday weekend....the Tigers FO obviously wanted to take advantage of the dual distractions and fewer sports media available to comment on it for a few days.

After doing a cursory search online for any details, Ilitch and the Tigers' brass apparently still have not announced or released any info on its terms a week later. But I would hazard a wild-ass guess that it runs for at least as long as Migwell's will.

Chris just wants a patsy who will bullshit the fans with a garbage ass team so he doesn't have to invest in this team.

He needs to sell and fuck off.

Anyone with a brain knew this lineup was shit from day one. It's a slap in the face of the fans who gave so much time energy and money to help keep that run going that was pissed away

Not to mention, and like I have posted before, Chris Ilitch has noticed how the small market teams in the AL operate, and he wants to emulate them, with the added bonus of fielding the equivalent of teams having just a small-market payroll and only allowing for short-term and controllable contracts in a mid-market region.

But he doesn't have the qualified personnel who are absolutely necessary to field competitive, much less contending teams for a few years at a time.

The only other obstacle is selling their bullshit to the masses, of whom most haven't and won't be fooled by his and his cronies' charade...but then there is and will be MLB profit-sharing and teevee-radio broadcast revenue to offset the increasing losses in season-individual ticket sales, concessions, parking, and souvenir/jersey sales income.
