Well tell ya what gents looks like lots of rain in the Cleveland area again tonight slow moving lingering all night looks like nothing real hard but you know MLB won't start a game if it's sprinkling so I don't think there will be any tiger baseball tonight either.. Triple Header tomorrow? LOL

that would fun, maybe.. noon, five, ten start times. C'Mon let's do it, Triple Header!!

And tomorrows game thread will also say Game #141. Game #141 attempt 2, Game #141 attempt 3..oh wait the Lions are on tomorrow, hmmm well shitskabob I can't watch the tigers tomorrow then. pfffst..

Same lineups as last night?s rainout (including Steven Moya getting his first start, due to his previous matchups against Cody Anderson in the minors), with somewhat similar weather. The forecast calls for a chance of showers all evening, though not likely the same downpours that hit Cleveland last night.
With a doubleheader already scheduled for Sunday, no more matchups between these two teams this season, and MLB wanting every reasonable effort made to play every game on the schedule, expect them to wait well into the night if need be to get this one in.

I still don't understand why MLB won't start games in light rains, they play through light to moderate rains once it has started but won't start in the same. it makes no sense to me, easy solution would be to just start the damn game if it's just a sprinkle and a forecast that doesn't look to produce anything heavy enough to stop play which is what I think the area is going to see tonight.

It is weird how they do that. I get the feeling if it is delayed, the game will be played in parts until it's over, or late innings and if the rain comes down heavy in the 7th/8th innings with a team in the lead, they could stop it at that point of the game. I'm calling past 1PM finish if any of this happens. I will be Zzzzzzzzz by 11:30 maybe sooner,...... or later if I get an early nap in.

When I turned on Fox sports one The Yankees and Toronto were on and it's early in the game.

At first I thought they had replaced the Tigers Indian game because the Yankee Toronto game is up substantially more consequence.

We had a Saturday game maybe about 4 weeks back that wasn't on anywhere but in Detroit.

Tonights game if it's played, and maybe next Saturdays won't be on the Fox channel that out of state Tigers fans would be able to watch.

TV: Fox Sports 1
Radio: 97.1 The Ticket and the Detroit Tigers radio network

Tonight's Tiger game is listed on my time warner cable directory as being on Fox sports one for me tonight in Los Angeles.

Right now they're showing a "look around the league" like they do on the MLB channel sometimes.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Rain postponed the Indians and Tigers game for the second straight night Saturday at Progressive Field. No makeup date was announced.

Friday's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Sunday starting at 1:10 p.m.

The Indians and Tigers have no common off days through the rest of the season to make up Saturday's game. The game could be made up after the regular season if would determine a postseason spot.

The regular season ends on Oct. 4.

The Tribe was 4 1/2 games out of the second wild card spot going into Saturday's game. They were one win shy of reaching .500 for the first time since April 10.

Pitching matchups for the doubleheader have changed. Rookie Cody Anderson will face Detroit's Justin Verlander in the first game. Trevor Bauer will face Tiger left-hander Randy Wolf in the second game.

Justin Verlander is a creature of habit. He is at his best when he takes the ball every fifth day. He gets a little cranky when that routine is messed with.

He's probably more than a little cranky now.

His start, initially scheduled for Friday, was postponed by rain for the second straight night Saturday. No makeup date was set. Most likely, it will be played the day after the regular season ends if it is deemed necessary in terms of impacting any of the playoff races.

Verlander will now start the first game of the doubleheader Sunday on seven days of rest. When he's pitched on six days or more rest this season, he has allowed 11 runs in 14.2 innings.

He's allowed just 13 runs total in his last nine starts on five days of rest.

Randy Wolf will start the second game of the doubleheader Sunday. It is a traditional doubleheader, meaning the second game will start 30 minutes after the first one ends.

Cody Anderson will start Game 1 for the Indians, Trevor Bauer Game 2.
