I wonder if the effects of all the head trauma to Alex over the years has passed up to his dad

I can't believe they just didn't bring back Donny baseball over Aviles, pfffst.. maybe Al thought the last name was close enough in spelling to make up for letting Alex walk for a couple nickels and dimes. lol, then they drop lobstein to make room, wuhhhh. idk what the fk these guys are doing and I'm not real impressed with this off season either. This is not a team that will be much if any better than last year IMO.

Aviles gets $2 Mil plus $300 K in incentives? What kind of incentives?

"Will give you $1,500 for each splinter and $1,000 per mosquito bite."

I heard we got cash considerations from the Pirates for Lobstein, but didn't hear how much. Any ideas on what the amount is, and where that leaves us cap-wise?

Usually "cash consideration" are determined on whether he makes the team in Spring Training or other stipulations.

By DFA-ing Lobstein, this is a way to get something. The Pirates are willing to pay the Tigers money to have first dibs on him, not liking their chance to get him if he goes to waivers.

What a looming clusterfuck that the potential '16 Tigers team is looking like so far. No power or decent D on the leftside, probable platoons in CF & LF, a bench with subpar @ best D and weak on O, with a traditionally-Tigers' lack of plate discipline. At least the Swiss Army Knife of fielders Don Freaking Kelly was somewhat justified with his glove, but Aviles sucks with BOTH his bat and glove, and likely can't advance, even if he does get on base, somehow. Won't get into the BP, but other than MAYBE late innings setup & closer it will likely become Dombrowskish as well. Both catchers are just barely backup-worthy...Yay!!

I'd honestly rather have Del 'Mignon on the bench for a bat. He killed us 2 years ago vs the O's and he raked in the playoffs when he was a Tiger.

Turok, they were one of the worst teams in baseball last year. Not sure how much more of a cluster it could be. At least there is going to be some new blood in the system. You never know how players will respond in a new situation.

Yeah, it's rare for me to be optimistic, but we don't know how these pieces will fit.
