Game Preview.

The Tigers have now played in six consecutive one-run games.
According to Elias Sports, that's the club's longest streak of one-run games since July 27 to August 1, 1971 (also six games).
Additionally, each of the club's last 11 games have been decided by no more than three runs.

Detroit Tiger fans, huge news! Dave Littlefield is out. Would this have happened if another former Director of Player Development hadn't been hired as the Tigers' manager? The youngsters without ties to the old regime and cliques are taking over. Great first step for the future!

Sam Menzin, Jay Sartori and Kenny Graham are all getting promotions in the Tigers front office. All sharp people.
Most notably, Graham is taking over player development on an interim basis.
Dave Littlefield will transition to a role as a special assignment scout.

This is a great piece..and just another example if people want to pay attention of The Fetter school..lesson one..is the change up..use it..even if you don't feel comfortable doing so..

Detroit Tigers: A changeup does Alex Lange some good.
We continue to see a lot of development from various pitchers this season in the Detroit Tigers bullpen. Alex Lange continues to evolve and has found a third pitch.

Tigers trailing 3 - 1 in the 4th inning,

Grossman with his 20th home run,

Bases loaded in the 4th 1 out and Willi Castro hits into an inning ending double play, shit.

Skubal has come a long way but boy does he give up a lot of home runs.

Garneau = 20 PA 2 HR = 10.0 PA/HR (before this game)

Ramos = 63 PA 5 HR = 12.6 PA/HR

Greiner = 88 PA 6 HR = 14.7 PA/HR

Haase = 153 PA 7 HR = 21.9 PA/HR

Rogers = 219 PA 8 HR = 27.4 PA/HR

I am sure the sample sizes aren't enough.

Skubal's final August start marred by 'misfires'.

Athletics 9 - Tigers 3: Bad Skubal, bad bats, bad loss.
Too many mistakes from the Tigers starter, and another bad offensive performance, doomed them on Tuesday night.

Athletics bring the thump against Tarik Skubal, Tigers.

The Oakland Athletics don?t lose at Comerica Park. True, they haven?t been here since 2019, but they haven?t lost here since 2016.
They posted their 12th consecutive win in Detroit on Tuesday night, pounding rookie lefty Tarik Skubal and the Tigers 9-3. It was the Tigers fourth straight loss and their first losing month (12-14) since April.
