Leyland on Dotel: "I’ll just use him if I need him. He’s been around long enough, it’s not really a shock to his system".

Leyland on 1st game of Avila's rehab stint in Toledo: "The only thing I’m excited about was he felt great".
Avila scheduled to catch 5 innings tonight for MudHens and DH whole game Wednesday. "Everything goes right, he’ll play here on Thursday". — Leyland.

Know Thy Enemy: 2012 St. Louis Cardinals.

Lance Lynn, who is starting for the Cardinals, has a 10-2 record. He is 6-foot-5, 230 pounds and hits 98 mph on the radar gun. In his two most recent starts, he’s struck out 25 hitters in 13 1-3 innings. He has a 2.42 ERA. His WHIP (walks and hits per innings pitched) is just above one.
In other words, he has nothing in common with the generally inept excuse for major league pitching the Tigers have seen lately.

Finally back with internet...not that I really post all that often, but it is good to see the Tigers playing better! Really really hope that I don't have to see Young in the lineup too much more often.

Nice to face another team who's big bat is on the DL.

Pitch Beltran and Holliday carefully and should be smooth for JV.

It's a hot one today, boys. It is really humid and I had 100*F on my truck's thermometer all the way from downtown to Southfield, then 97*F down to 94*F on the rest of the ride home. They should have some strong winds blowing out to left though. The winds were strong along the riverfront and in the Financial District and Campus Martius areas all day today.

I hope we can get this cat early... LL sure has had a great year so far.... Time for the Tigers start really playing well... I am heading for the couch and some ice.. Nothing like a back flare up to keep you down... Like King says sure looks like a hot one tonight...

Given some of the pitchers we've made look good this season, part of me is really worried we won't be able to muster more than 1 or 2 off Lynn...

Still, the best shot for a 3-game winning streak we've had in quite a while...

we are getting the high heat the next 2/3 days in boston, 98 and 96 wednesday thursday.

This stat doesn't mean shit for tonight but.....the Tigers are 11-0 at home in Interleague play when Verlander starts.

good to see you here jmakula.

So they just showed a graphic that St. Louis is 1st or 2nd in many of the big offensive categories and Rod said they don't take very many pitches.
