YOU MAKE THE CALL.
Totally Tigers

You Make the Call is the segment where readers must make a decision.
Every week we identify an issue that is going on with the Tigers. And it?s an issue that must be resolved by A.J. Hinch.

Readers must choose one decision from the 2 or 3 offered as the one you feel is the best way to address the issue.
As always, we ask readers to take some time to comment and explain their rationale. Please remember to keep your comments to the 4-sentence maximum rule.

Let?s kick this off!

It all started with the collision. Last week, Akil Baddoo and Derek Hill slammed into each other at full speed trying to field a fly ball in left field. As a result, they both went to the injured list setting off a host of roster moves.

Part of those moves included the return of Renato Nunez to the 40-man roster and a trip to Detroit. Nunez has been the same player over the last week, hitting a couple home runs, getting a key hit last night and playing some shaky first base.

But what will be his fate when Baddoo, Hill and Matthew Boyd return? Should he be given more time to see what he can do and at the same time let Jonathan Schoop settle in at second base for awhile? Or should he go back down to the minor leagues?

What is best for the team?
You make the call.

What makes sense for Nunez after the return of the injured Tiger players?

1. He should stick around for awhile to see what he can do.

2. No room for him - he should return to the minors.

Disgusting letting these crap hitters beat us. Wtf why can't we get the bottom of the Cleveland order out ?

This is the 13th different pitcher to start a game for us this year. Can't expect much when you get that far into your organization depth.

well...got the TV all set up out on the deck, turn on the game and the tigers are already losing 6-0 :(

How the fuck does a pitcher with an era of close to 6.00 to start this game have a perfect game broken up in the 8th inning?? wtf?
and by a player who wouldn't be on the bench let alone starting for 2 dozen teams,

Triston McKenzie has had such a weird season

Entered day with 5.66 ERA and .199 opp BA

14 other pitchers entered day with 60+ IP and BA <.200

The next-highest ERA was Chad Green 3.13

5.66 and .199 is nuts.

Looks like 16 of his 55 hits entering today were homers. That plus a lot of walks

Tigers fans hoped that Miguel Cabrera would make history this afternoon, but Cleveland pitcher Triston McKenzie nearly made history of his own.

Both Schoop and Hinch openly discuss the debatable decision to throw home, the play that opened the floodgates in an 11-0 loss.

maybe the catcher should catch the fucking baseball..its the major leagues..its one of 1000 reasons DET will upgrade their catching depth behind Haase and Rogers for 2022.
