Tigers vs. indians Game Thread August 4

Stuff to the west looks significantly lighter though, at least on the radar.

I'm reading it the same right now, looks to be slowly breaking up and weakening as it moves north east by the time it gets here might not be that bad. This cell moving through now should be cleared out in about another 5-10 mins

Finally was able to finish up with a couple of sick neighbors and come back to a rain delay?
Where was this call early in that redsox game JV pitched.

Boesch had an RBI triple. It was his first triple this year. Had one last year almost to the day (Aug. 5, 2011).

That's a large shield of rain with embedded thunderstorms. The type of rain which they won't be able to play through. We need more runs so hopefully we can win this in six innings.

Tarp is off at Comerica Park, but they have some cleanup work to do. Infield took on some water when it first started pouring.
Jason Beck

lol....Carlos Guillen looks like Jaws from James Bond with those braces.

Not to make excuses for the Boston debacle, but that rain was a sprinkle compared to this.

It started so fast and so hard that when they unrolled the tarp, they had trouble dragging it on the field because so much water was accumulating on top of it, and weighing it down.

Downpour is too mild a word.

3-0 Angels after a half inning. Floyd threw 41 pitches for the Sux.

I see, thanks.
When I got back and turned the tv on all it had were the words the rain delay.

Well Boesch is at least a lefty, which is why I'd rather see Dirks than Delmon vs. a Righty.

too much emphasis is put on Lefty vs Lefty and Righty Vs Righty. you never see a good hitter getting substituted like that.... I can relive the moments now, oh George Brett won't play today cause they started a lefty.

None of the people mentioned, Dirks, Boesch, or Young are "good" hitters.

We aren't talking Cabrera and Fielder here, so yeah, playing splits with average or below hitters is smart.

Fister is fisting the indians through 3 innings with 34 pitches,

Tigers lead 2 - 0.

lets give Dirks a chance to be a good hitter.

We're going to have to do better than this vs. Ubaldass.

AJ's been a little busy out their in center tonight. Doug's leaving few up they're just missing.

I suppose one sac-fly was enough to ask out of DY. Two would have been a frickin' miracle...
