It's funny that Baddoo is finally starting to get some national press and now it's Haase that is the hottest rookie nobody is talking about

Miguel Cabrera last 65 games
289/337/421
8HR
42 RBI

I still fuming about the fact DET did not agressively pursue Willy Adames earlier this year..FUCK YES I am..who fits what Hinch is doing better.

Reminder DET has 2 open 40 man spots and make ZERO effort to add any arms during the most active trade deadline in MLB history..am I shocked..fuck NO..I tweet about this ineptitude daily..hell even the beat writers under the Colangelo edict said things..

Tigers best hitter in July Jeimer Candelario and it wasn't real close..
Tigers most productive hitter in July Eric Haase and it wasn't real close.

Akil Baddoo has stopped drawing walks..I hope he remedies that issue quickly..cannot hit leadoff if he doesn't..

Pretty sure some roster moves happen tomorrow..Hinch will have a few words for his subordinates about roster management.

MLB batting leaders for July:
AVG: Kyle Farmer, Reds (.395)
OBP: Juan Soto, Nationals (.487)
SLG: Joey Votto, Reds (.734)
OPS: Juan Soto, Nationals (1.176)
H: David Fletcher, Angels (37)
HR: Joey Votto, Reds (11)
RBI: Eric Haase, Tigers (29)!!!!
SB: Starling Marte, Marlins/A's: (11)

No homer, but Miggy still has impact in win.

Tigers 6 - Orioles 2: Series-Splittin? with the Birds.
Tyler Alexander looked shaky early, but he and the bullpen righted the ship.

Last night, Willi Castro did it again. His bobble cost the Detroit Tigers 3 runs and probably a game loss. How much longer will the Tigers allow this experiment to go on? Don't be surprised that when Niko Goodrum returns, Castro will be sent down.

It's looking more and more likely that the Tigers biggest need in the off-season is solving the up-the-middle dilemma. They will be losing Jonathan Schoop and have yet to find a real SS solution since Jose Iglesias left 3 years ago.

Totally Tigers

Not sure how much DET has spent on IFA signings since Aug 2015 has to be 25-30M and to hit on ZERO..thats right ZERO ..one less than one..the likely 100 players DET has signed out of Latin America..kind of goes with the hit rate on rule 4 draftees..that answer is TWO.

20 JULY THOUGHTS.
Totally Tigers

July was another winning month for the Tigers. That?s 3 in a row if you are keeping track and we know that you are.

On the entertainment scale, the Tigers have advanced to becoming a team that is now fun to watch. And I believe that is one of the qualifications for competing and eventually contending.

But enough already! Let?s take a hard look at July and wrap it up with a nice little bow and a star on the forehead of each and every Tiger for the third month in a row.

Topics will be random and all over the map, the way we like them, and holdovers remain important for thoughts that need more time to simmer.

Please enjoy another monthly compilation of 20 Thoughts ? for July.

RAPID FIRE.

The Tigers have been playing for 4 months now. Let?s continue the evaluation of each player that we first started back in May.

This list is indicative of the entire year so far, not just the month of July. Did each player move up or down the list? We?ll let you know. And if there?s no notation, then there?s been no change in their grading level. We?ve also taken into consideration roster moves. A few players who have disappeared. Some on the IL with no known return date. A few call-ups.

Please note that for reasons of demotion, DFA, long IL stints or trades, we are not evaluating Matthew Boyd, JaCoby Jones, Alex Lange, Nomar Mazara, Daniel Norris, Wilson Ramos or Spencer Turnbull.

What exactly have Holly and Kurt been seeing?
