Before the start of tonights game, Miguel Cabrera needs four hits to become the seventh Tiger to total 100 hits, 15 home runs and 60 RBIs before the All-Star break. He also did it two years ago. Others include Hank Greenberg in 1935, Al Kaline in 1955, Norm Cash in 1961, Willie Horton in 1970 and Magglio Ordonez in 2006.

Worst Tigers WAR ever: Jerry Morales -2.6 1979. Boesch currently at -1.8 is in bottom ten. When is Boesch going to stop playing every day? He hasn't had an XBH since a HR against the Cubs on 6/13.

Extremely disappointing that the server has caused this type of outage for such an extended period of time. Over 500 of us left espn because of their new shit forum format, we all went to Jessie/Monster's board and moved here early in the year.
This is at least the second if not third time this server issue has created this type of problem with a 12/18 hour outage. For all the hype and posters all saying the vBulletin is a good server and all, it is very frustrating.

This Tigers message board and the forum has been my sanctuary especially the past 5/6 months while dealing with real life family issues with my mom's deteriorating health. For me posting early mornings and then going to see her for a few hours, and then come back and post with all of you in the game and other threads, has taken my mind off of all going on here, if even for a few hours.

3 games in a row for Porcello....much needed. 3 ER's in his last 3 starts against St. Louis, Texas and Tampa. Impressive. Pitching up to his potential right now.

Dan and Jim didn't understand it either, the only possible explanation they could think of was that Benoit had only pitched 1 inning in the last 5 games and Leyland wanted to get him some work in.

Leyland needs to start stretching his pitchers more or else they'll never will be able to go deep, regularly.

Lineup changes for today's game from last night: Raburn at 2B (**** you leyland) hitting 7th, Kelly in RF hitting 8th (again, **** you leyland. if raburn is playing, it needs to be in the OF), Santiago at SS still hitting 9th. Peralta and Boesch not playing today. Why Peralta is sitting only leyland ****in knows.

Good win last night, Porcello is showing his potential, he's been able to do it for a few games in a row here and there, but let's see if he can put together a stretch where he's at the top of his game for a good several weeks. This is why Porcello is a great asset to have, he's a 23 year old pitcher with 44 career wins and when he gets it going like he did last night, he really reminds me of Greg Maddux.

12 runners LOB last night isn't going to get it done most games though, we easily should have had 10 runs last night.

Don't get the lineup changes with Perralta sitting now, he's starting to get it going. This is a big game today and would put us at 5-5 on the 10 game road trip and back to withing 1 game of .500 with 7 games at home coming up.

Great, great job by Porcello, maybe the best I have ever seen.

I think he got lifted because of his jam in the 6th, and when we gave him a 4 run lead, Leyland pulled him so no matter what happened after, he would maintain a positive feeling about his last few starts.

Also as unlikely as it seems, if Detroit is thinking about moving either Scherzer or Porcello, their last couple of starts really boosted their value.

I don't think we move them unless we become sellers, because out issues with Smyly now, but I also don;t think we will become sellers.
