Tigers vs. Red Sox preview: Casey Mize hunts a series win.
The Red Sox are scuffling lately. Time to take advantage and pick up a series win before heading out on the road again.

The irony of AJ Hinch..taking two catchers Avila and Littlefield had left for dead..who were buried in TOL behind Greyson Greiner and Wilson Ramos..into one of the better and most productive catching tandems in baseball this year..is magical..
The most hilarious part of this..people wanna give the DET FO credit..funny when they hand out credit how many people like to raise their hand and claim to be part of it.
besides their 5th string catcher..I like this lineup..what makes me happy..everytime Greiner catches we are closer to the last game he catches for DET..
when you wonder why I adovcated to keep all the BP arms..this is why..no need to start over..all are cheap..and evolving..its how you win games and build a roster..Hinch knows..

Sometimes, the most interesting game details happen before the first pitch is thrown. Case in point? Last night's lineup card exchange between the Detroit Tigers' A. J. Hinch and Red Sox manager Alex Cora.

Cora considered Hinch to be his mentor and close friend. But reports have stated that since the Houston scandal, their relationship has cooled - as we witnessed last night. It's not too hard to guess why.

Last night, Cora seemed very happy to see Hinch and gave him an effusive hug. Hinch's return was perfunctory and his body language indicated that he was not happy having to interact with Cora.

Detroit Tiger fans, both the owner and GM are now on the record about venturing out into free agency this winter. We've got the clues to be watching and the questions to be asking.

Miggy the main attraction, but history waits.
Slugger collects his 2,945th hit, but is still two shy of 500 home runs.

Red Sox 4 - Tigers 1: Boston home runs beat Mize, Detroit.
The Red Sox homered three times off Casey Mize, and Eduardo Rodriguez kept the Tigers off balance for five innings to win Wednesday night.

As Miguel Cabrera chases 500, J.D. Martinez watches with respect: ?He?s earned it?.

?Fans have to understand: This guy grinded out a lot of years in his prime when he probably shouldn?t have been playing, just because the team had to win,? Martinez said. ?He can?t move (as well) now because he gave you his all then.
?I feel for him because I understand it. You just hope that the fan base understands it, too.?
