Tigers have released RHP Erasmo Ramirez.

The Detroit Tigers continue to sort out their outfield with way too many players for too few slots. Gradually, players are being sent down, not to return this year which doesn't bode well for their future. JaCoby Jones and Christin Stewart fall into that category.

Now, Daz Cameron is in danger. Just sent back down to Toledo again with only 4 more weeks of play. Getting a spot on next year's roster will prove harder given that Robbie Grossman and Akil Baddoo are slam dunks. That leaves just 2 more spots.

It's expected that Riley Greene will see Detroit sooner rather than later and will vie for 1 of 2 remaining spots. There will be competition from Derek Hill, Victor Reyes, Will Castro (if the OF conversion works) and potentially Jacob Robson who is playing very well right now.

Who says that corporate culture doesn't matter? First, Detroit Tigers' Jonathan Schoop who said he really wanted to stay in Detroit. Today, it's Robbie Grossman. When you've got players wanting to stay - and mean it - you've got a good thing going.

AJ Hinch isn't interested in Detroit Tigers being 'a spoiler' in September. Here's why.

To finish the season, the Tigers play the Reds (72-63), Pittsburgh Pirates (48-87), Tampa Bay Rays (84-50), Milwaukee Brewers (82-53), Chicago White Sox (78-56), Kansas City Royals (59-74) and Minnesota Twins (58-75).
In all, it's a strength of schedule of .536, including seven games against the American League East-leading Rays and six with the AL Central-leading White Sox.

The Tigers have announced the following roster move:
*Optioned INF Zack Short to Triple A Toledo
A corresponding roster move will be made prior to tomorrow?s game.

The Tigers have now tied a franchise record with at least three home runs in each of the team's last four games played.

Marks the third time it's occurred in franchise history, also from September 16-19, 1985 and July 23-25, 1965.
