If you look at the headlines in the major Detroit dailys baseball articles, you'd think that the Detroit Tigers are assembling the 2nd coming of the great prospects who eventually won the '84 World Series. Nothing but good news in these fluff articles. But when should we start believing these stories?
When the national media starts covering the team. The Tigers have been largely invisible since 2017, save for Miggy's 3000th hit and ERod's great start. When the MLBNetwork and Espn start talking about how well the young players are doing, we'll know there's some substance there.

It wouldn't surprise me that he is dealing with a myriad of sore spots the worst being his knee which could be bone on bone, a foot problem achilles or heel, maybe vision, and things ache more as you get older.
I am thinking they will have some conclusion to this, that he will stop this part time play around the All-Star break and ride it out on the bench as pinch hitter occasional start vs. a lefty and this way be with the team in a smaller capacity then even now. This gives the fans something and he can continue this farewell to all the other teams ball parks. Just my guess.
