With the division crown already in hand, Tigers manager Jim Leyland said Monday he'd plan on letting Miguel Cabrera decide his status for the team's final two games.
On Tuesday, it appears Cabrera has decided to play.
With the coveted Triple Crown at stake, Cabrera will start at third base in Game 2 of the Tigers' three-game series against the Royals in Kansas City. First pitch is set for 8:10 p.m.
Cabrera leads the AL in all three Triple Crown categories -- making him the first player since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967 to lead every category this late in the season.
