Detroit at Minnesota preview: Hot Tigers look to carry momentum into the All-Star break.
Tarik Skubal is on the bump as the Tigers and Twins begin an eight game stretch against each other, sandwiched around the All-Star break.

Thru yesterday, breaking down by lateral angle and sorting by most to least overall overperformance is rather interesting. Would not have expected DET to play up so well here & it isn't from pulling the ball well like the next three teams. 2nd highest % of balls hit Opp/mid.

Not that we?re keeping track or anything, but have you noticed that the Detroit Tigers have won their last 3 series? A chance to make it 4 before the All-Star break hits.

With last nights win, the Tigers have won or tied each of their last five series (4-0-1). Per Elias Sports.
It's the first time since 2016 (July 21 to August 7) that Detroit has gone five-straight series without a series loss.

There are multiple injuries in the Detroit Tigers? outfield and manager A. J. Hinch said that Niko Goodrum will help cover out there rather than stay in the infield. This is a great opening for Zack Short who could finally claim that SS position.

The Tigers have reinstated OF Victor Reyes from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple A Toledo.

Totally Tigers

and on the farm;
Spencer Torkelson now has 11 home runs in 51 minor league games.
Remember he didn't hit his first until game 15.

Locked On Detroit Tigers Podcast: Another one! The Detroit Tigers cannot stop winning series and that's awesome. 36 minutes.

Kyle Gibson gets his first loss of the year and your Tigers have 40 wins on the year. Zach Short, Casey Mize, Gregory Soto, and much more! How long did it take you to guess our Throwback Thursday player?

No score bottom of the third inning,

Skubal 4 K's 0 walks 34 pitches,

Tigers need some Runs,

Top of the 4th inning,

Miggy singles, Haase hits a 2 run homer,

Tigers lead 2 - 0,

Asked for and delivered... but I am not watching the game. Cam someone share what Miggy did to cause out #2? Did he not tag up correctly after outfielder caught the ball...leave base too soon before it was actually caught, or...??? Thanks!

Bottom of the 4th, Skubal gets another K for 5, 0 walks and 43 pitches,

Twins 5 - Tigers 3: The squander monster bites back in Minnesota.
The Tigers had every chance to win this one, but fumbled them all away.

Tigers' double-play defense has a costly relapse, spoils Skubal's night.

Replays ruin Detroit Tigers' series opener in 5-3 loss to Minnesota Twins.

This loss is not surprising when one looks at the schedule. Tigers are in the middle of a 10 day stretch which includes an early game in Detroit, flight to Dallas, last game of that series is early so they can fly to Minny. No days off with all that travel is going to wear on guys. This is likely why Hinch changed the lineup a bit as well.

No excuses though. I mean, if the team really needed the night off they should fully comprehend all they need to do is go to the field and turn on the sprinklers!

Can?t lose to bad teams especially when you out hit them. Now back ro 8 games under .500 sadly. Better win the next 2 games.
