It?s going to be tough, but winning this series would feel great.

Game Preview.

Nick Castellanos for Alex Lange has worked out well....

Spencer Torkelson in June
400/561/700

Dillon Dingler in June
457/513/771

Dear Avila/Chadd/Littlefield..you fucksticks step back from the crazy ideas and do what you have done the past few seasons with your pick....not draft a high school pitcher...

Lets see
Jones 2.6M
Farmer 1.75M
Ramos 2M
Tehran 3M
not good....

Tigers will be auditioning Austin Jackson as a broadcast partner for Dan Dickerson during next month's series at Texas. Nice potential in Mr. Jackson.

so what you are telling us..is Jim Price will not be doing road games for the foreseeable future..and rather than just hire Dan Petry..they will run open auditions till the season is over.

3 - 2 Tigers trailing bottom of the 5th.

Mazara and Paredes with homeruns.

4 - 2 Tigers trailing top of the 7th.

Ah crap.

I was listening when Miggy singled to start the ninth (again) then I had to deal with other business.

Later looked in on the previous post, and learned the Tigers tied it in the bottom of the 9th.

So I asked Siri and she told me about the extra inning loss.

Crap.

Cameron's 1st homer delights 'amped' crowd.

THE SATURDAY SURVEY.

The Saturday Survey offers the opportunity to weigh in on a relevant topic.
So here is a poll to gauge the pulse of our passionate readers.

Today, we center the discussion on the Tiger manager and his coaches and how much credit they should get for the success on the field.

As always, we welcome your comments, so please vote and then submit your reasons (4 sentences max!) for how you voted in the usual comment box. Don?t forget to come back later and view the results!

The Detroit Tigers had their first winning month in 4 years. After a horrendous start to the year, the team performed well in May and have taken 1 out of 2 series so far in June. They have remained competitive in games with a number of close scores and extra inning games. They have also established a pattern of being able to come back late in games which they haven?t done in previous rebuilding years.

Analysts are saying that the Tigers are performing better than expected so far. And other than the signing of regular Robbie Grossman, the roster, for the most part, remains essentially the same as last year. Many are giving A. J. Hinch and his coaches credit for the team?s improvement.

But what do you say, Tiger fans? How much credit do you give the new manager and coaches for what we?re seeing on the field?

At least they're battling. Good to see Paredes swinging well. He had another hr robbed the other day. Only concern with him is we can't possibly feature an infield with him and Castro both in it I wouldn't think.

Is Paredes bad defensively?

Between 2 and 1.

I listen to at least part of the majority of the games on the radio, and Jim Price seems think fundamentals are improving across the board - fielding, base-running, pitching and hitting.

I had little doubt the team would improve over what it showed in April, I even had a friendly debate with my cyber friend and fellow Tigers fan sgg about that back at the time on one of the politics threads.

I still think its the players and if they get guidance or ways to help their mechanics I would think it's more the coaches than the manager. 2nd year by Mize and Skubal don't hurt.. The offense by looking at the stats is essentially like last season. We had a good month, thank goodness. We still k too much.

If I was ranking these I'd give the players 2, coaches 4 and Hinch 5.

Okay.

Based on your synopsis I would have thought you?d give the coaches at least a little more credit.

And how does Hinch get zero credit? Who brought the coaches?
