White Sox-Tigers postponed Wednesday.
Tigers official site

DETROIT -- Wednesday?s series finale between the Tigers and White Sox has been postponed due to inclement weather as a storm system dumped several inches of rain on the area around Comerica Park.

The game will be made up on Monday in a 1:10 p.m. ET start at Comerica Park.

The same storm system that prompted officials to move up Tuesday?s Tigers-White Sox game to an afternoon start crept over Michigan as expected Tuesday evening. It lingered there overnight and well into Wednesday, leading to a flood watch for Detroit and a relatively early postponement Wednesday morning.

Both teams were scheduled to be off Monday.

The rescheduled game means the Tigers and White Sox will face each other four times over the final week of the regular season, including a three-game series in Chicago next weekend to wrap up the regular-season schedule.

Wednesday?s postponement also means the Tigers will have two days off before they next play on Friday, when they begin a three-game series against the Royals with a 7:10 p.m. ET contest at Comerica Park. The game includes a Miguel Cabrera celebration honoring his 500th career home run from last month. It also begins the final home series of the Tigers schedule for this year.

Fans with tickets to Wednesday?s postponed game can either use them for Monday?s makeup game or exchange them for tickets to any of the scheduled games against the Royals this weekend, including Friday?s Miggy Celebration Day.

Izaac Pacheco, Jackson Jobe next prospect duo for Detroit.

During his chat with AJ Hinch and Chris Fetter, the Tigers' potential 2021 draft-day bonus, Ty Madden, was invited to reunite with an old pitch.

The old Tigers under Avila/Chadd/Littlefield "boy this guy could be good"....the new Tigers under Hinch/Fetter/Sartori.."what can we do to this guys profile to make him better"..hey..we only wasted 6 years..and 500M dollars with the 3 stooges.

Spencer Torkelson is mashing his way to the finish line.
With five games left on the Triple-A calendar, Torkelson is doing everything in his power to insert himself into 2022?s Opening Day plans.

THE BIG STORY.
Totally Tigers

Miguel Cabrera's single in the 1st inning is the 2,985th hit of his big league career, tying Sam Rice for 33rd in MLB history.

Since May 7, Miguel Cabrera has a line of
.286.342.422.764 OPS/ .330 wOBA/ 109 wRC+
not quite Victor Reyes, but solid!
Why May 7 instead of May 8?
Because it better fits the narrative!

Manning has given up 6 earned runs in just over 3 innings. He is nowhere ready. I certainly hope the Tigers aren't going to run him out there next spring. He needs some more time in the minors.

Tigers trailing 6 - 2 after 6 full innings,

Manning pitched well and then the 4th inning blew up for him,

I'm not able to watch the game. I did see he walked 5 and gave up 4 hits in 3.1 innings.

I find it pretty amazing that the two rookies (who are on innings limits) lead the Tigers in innings pitched at 146 each which is almost 50 more innings than #3 on the list. I think it might be another long year next year unless they add some starting pitching.

wtf, why did the benches clear? did niko tag him in his 'special place'? Looked clean to me.

I got a text from Tinsel that the game was on MLB Network but I don't get it anymore.

They have had many games to come back late, no quit, unlike the last two managers they would roll over game over trailing like this one.

The talk and links say they will go after some FA a pitcher and a SS.
Not anyone looking for a boatload maybe middle tier FA.

Mize and Skubal weren't that good last year in their first taste and both showed they belonged this year. I'm not worried about him next year. With losing Boyd and Turnbull next year already you can bet he'll be there opening day. I'm sure they sign at least 2 starters with that many young guys.

Skubal pitched 32 and Mize 28 in 2020 which is a pretty small sample size and they were dealing with no minor leagues to prepare for their major league debut

Skubal 32 IP, 1.22 WHIP, 5.63 ERA
Mize 28.1 IP, 1.48 WHIP, 6.99 ERA

Manning has pitched 80 innings in Detroit with the benefit of starting in the minor leagues this year...and he sucked in the minor leagues this year.

They can still sign Boyd since he is arb eligible.

White Sox 8 - Tigers 7: Matt Manning dug too deep a hole.
The Tigers fought back in typical style, but a bad outing from their starter left them with too big a hill to climb.

They'd be crazy to bring a guy back that might not pitch next year after having surgery.

That would have been a nice comeback, no quit in this team. Miggy, 14 hits until 3000.
