Tigers Game Information.
Also scheduled to pitch; Benoit, Schlereth, Dotel, Bootcheck.

They’re expecting a sellout crowd at Joker Marchant Stadium today, including a packed environment on the left-field berm. They’ll see pretty close to a regular lineup for the Tigers, injured Miguel Cabrera notwithstanding, and a few of the stars from the Yankees. Robinson Cano and Mark Teixeira made the trip, as did Raul Ibanez. Curtis Granderson and Derek Jeter did not.

I wish my Dad would have been a Detroit Tigers coach at one time, could have been drafted.

Standing ovation at Joker Marchant for soldiers from Ft. Benning (and families), as part of Willie Horton Support the Troops program.

First pitch: 1:08, 81 degrees at game time here in Lakeland.

Max Scherzer with a 1-2-3 first inning. Cervelli and Cano both got good wood on the ball, but Delmon and Boesch tracked the flies down.

Another three-up, three-down inning for Scherzer. Breathing through the blue eyelid today, apparently.

Four strikeouts through three scoreless (nine up, nine down) for Scherzer.

Tigers 3rd inning,

Peralta singles off garcia's leg or knee,

Inge grounds to third and Peralta to second,

Jackson flies to right,

Boesch walks,

Kelly grounds out to second.

Tigers and Yankees tied 0-0 in the middle of the 4th. Scherzer has retired all 12 Yankees, six of them on strikes.
12 up, 12 down for Yankees against Max Scherzer, who has struck out half of them. Just ended 4th with nasty offspeed pitch to fan Cano.

Leave Scherzer in for a no hit bad :)

Pitch counts aren't tracked in ST games, but seems like he is around 50, should be up around a maximum of 75/80 pitches today. So far so good, but garcia is pitching his soft stuff well too.

They are saying Prince hit a line rocket that cano made a nice diving catch of,

Delmon k's swinging,

Avila grounds to second.

im not sure if gameday is telling me the truth or not, but it says that through five innings scherzer has thrown all strikes.

Diving, sliding play by Don Kelly in front of the Yankees dugout to retire Teixeira,

ibanez flies to left,

dickerson k's,

Scherzer with 5 innings and given up nothing,
