This season wasn't good, but there were some bright spots. Cabrera wins the batting title (.338), J D Martinez, 38 HR 102 RBI, the emergence of rookie catcher James McCann 0 errors. Despite the low batting average, gose was adequate with good speed. The defense was improved, only 85 errors compared to last year when they committed 101. They led the league in hitting,but they hit into way too many double plays. The pitching was terrible. They need a couple starters and at least two relievers. A left fielder, and possibly a right handed center fielder.

McCann was terrible. His pitch calling was horrendous. Gose better be gone, he was awful.

Thanks for the stats and insight as usual KC...didn't expect much this year, or next year(or the foreseeable future)the way the team is structured, the salary/farm system/management issues...now just wondering if all four Detroit pro teams end up in the cellar(uggggh)....safe winter all!

Norris split nail on left index finger, which happens to him sometimes in cool weather. Ausmus said he already decided that was it after 5 innings.

Norris will get one more day's work before heading to offseason. He'll work with Jeff Jones in Detroit tomorrow on a mechanical tweak.

Ausmus: "They?re going to try to clean some things up mechanically that hopefully make his release point more consistent".

To be clear, Norris isn't going to throw tomorrow. He'll be working on mound on mechanics without throwing a ball.

STREAKS AND STATS:

Daniel Norris pitched 10 innings against the White Sox this season. He allowed one hit.

With a triple and a walk, Tyler Collins hit .293/.376/.480 in 85 plate appearances from September 1 through the end of the season.

There are 184 days until Opening Day 2016.
