Titus Young released

napolean complex perhaps? i mean he just doesn't realize he is not as big as megatron and therefore cannot do some of the things megatron can. conversely he is shiftier than CJ. each player has their own advantages and if they focus on being the best they personally can then there is no problem.

now, does stafford and the OC focus too much on CJ? probably as it seems CJ is always the #1 target. can't fault them for thinking that way, but i can see where it might be a challenge if you are the #3 or 4 checkdown. it would benefit the team if the OC made sure to create and use plays that didn't have CJ as the #1 target, but i cannot honestly say i've ever noticed that to be the case. either that or staff is almost instantly checking down to CJ. again, can't blame him for the most part, especially when the other guys are failing to get the necessary separation.

still, you have to know yourself, and titus obviously suffers from delusions of grandeur. he cannot even get open against single coverage but considers himself to be as good as a guy who is constantly double or triple covered.

all lions fans wish titus was as talented as CJ, would have made for a very explosive O.

important question now is how this impacts lions:

cap hit? how much does titus still count vs cap?

comp picks? any chance lions might get a comp pick if another team claims him, or is this a situation where lions will never get an ounce of good out of the situation?

Dave Birkett says 900k in dead money; would have been 1.2M if they would have kept him.

Comp picks don't happen until the year after and the two main reasons why you get a comp pick is salary and playing time and I doubt Titus gets either.

you only get a comp pick if a team signs a guy away from you in Free Agency.....lol

K, wasn't sure how the comp pick would or would not in play, thanks.

Sux taking a 900k hit, but sure beats having a cancer on the team.

there's guys on this board ok with cutting guys with 2 or more years left on deals....900k is nothing.

This dude actually believes that he's on the same level as CJ. Unbelievable.

"E.C. Robinson, Young?s high school coach, said Young came to his house on Christmas and the two talked about his problems with the Lions.

?He did tell me he thought he was just as good Megatron,? Robinson recalled late last month. ?I said, ?Titus, come on.? I said, ?Come on, man. Who you talking to?? I said, ?Come on, you?re as good as that guy? This guy is the real deal.? And he really believes this. And he was sincere about it. ?Ah man, I?m better than him.? I said, ?No you?re not. Be real man. Come on.? So I don?t know, I?m hoping for the best for him.?

Robinson and some of Young?s other former coaches, including ex-Boise State assistant Brent Pease, now at Florida, have reached out to Young recently with no success."

hillarious.....

He might actually get his wish and be the #1 on that team lmao. Gibson is a Fa and amendola will be in the slot/welker type.

i'm guessing Mayhew tried to shop around for a trade but every team said "no thanks, we'll wait until you release him so that you get screwed with the cap hit along with not getting anything from us". can't blame them for that as it saves their franchise from taking any of the hit...well, until he pulls a stunt on their team and they also release him, then the jokes on them!

I can't lie, I'm so dissappointed that another team picked him up so soon. Bullshit man.
Most teams gambled that he would be released.......they were right.
I hope he picks up where he left off, but it'll be just our luck that he plays nice next year acting like it was more the lions organization than him.

Well, at least he won't have any excuses seeing as CJ won't be on the other side getting most of the attention.
