Todd Graham?

Considering the Big East...That does not impress me. I know RR had WV in good shape, but really not impressive.

I can respect that.

South Florida had a couple good years (got to #2 at one point), WVU was the class of the Big East for those years, Pitt had a couple seasons of being in the top 25 (moving into top 10 at a couple points). UConn, Cincinnati, and Louisville also had seasons where they overachieved and won the Big East. Rutgers never won the Big East.

I'm not a huge Pat Fitzgerald fan, but when people try to oversimplify and boil him down to being 12 games under .500 in his career in the B1G, or he's had 3 winning conference seasons out of 9, I think it's a bit intellectually dishonest.

College football isn't a level playing field.

Seven games in a row Oregon has scored over 40 points since they lost to AZ..

Holy ba-Gee-bee's Have 30 right now with 9:34 left in the third and they could have a ton more...

Its not the B1G by any stretch of the imagination. He could win, but I (and most fans) would take a big wait and see approach. If the first year goes bad. People will be calling for his head, and Hackett's as well...If he is still the AD.

Make that 8......44 with 4:39 left in the third...wow

Michigan has to hire a coach that can motivate talent and put a winning product on the field. Not just put a team on the field. Hoke just put a team on the field. There was plenty of talent on the O this year, the team was not motivated to win. They rarely played with any intensity or urgency to win. Although Hoke said the team practiced well I really have doubts about that based on the way they played. They just did not look prepared. For example when Funchess was running across the backfield and got hit by the snap. That kind of thing happens in little league football not in D1 football unless the team is not prepared. Receivers dropping pass, turnovers, missed blocking assignments, all can be attributed to lack of preparation. The players may have loved Hoke they just didn't practice and play for him or respect him as a coach. They sure didn't play like they did anyway. Even the most talented players are not going to win games without intense preparation. Michigan has got to get a coach that can motivate the players, especially the talented ones to practice hard and win. I have never coached so I don't know how coaches do this, but obviously some can (the top 3) and some can't (Hoke). Even if Michigan can't get one of the top 3, they have got to get a guy that has shown he can otherwise it will be another 3-4 years of disappointment and frustration.

Never won the Big East title and reported on another board he never Beat RR. How the hell is he going to magically win at UM? If its Schiano we might as well kept Hoke. At least people liked him.

I find it funny that people want to discount the quality of the Big East conference as it was just a few short years ago. The conference had a winning record in BCS bowls, including some complete ass whoopings of national powers. Given the state that the Michigan program we're discussing has been in and considering there were in any given year in the past 7 years at least 2-3 teams in the Big East that would have beaten the shit out of Michigan, it's pretty fucking stupid to write it off as "but it was just the Big East".

Stop recycling the bullshit that the talking heads spouted for years. Every time they brought it up a Big East team went out and beat someone from the ACC, Big 12 or SEC. I know I for one am happy that Michigan didn't play Louisville, Cincinnati or WVU over the past 7 years because it would have been pretty hard to stomach it when a "lowly Big East team" came into the Big House and beat the shit out of Michigan.

If we don't get Harbaugh, it will be at least a 3 year rebuild. I believe Jim is the only hire we can make that will instantly boost recruiting and player development. That's why anyone else will be a disappointment to me.

Harbaugh wouldnt win here next year. Jesus Christ wouldnt win here next year. I agree with your statement for the most part but I wouldnt expect a major turn around yr 1 for any coach.

Fucking Addazio ....fucking Willingham & Schiano all popping up this morning in media as 'part of the search'

If any of those three get the job I will demand a refund of my AA membership dues and just become a CU Buffaloes fan.

I remember people laughing at OSU for hiring Jim Tressel from Youngstown state...

Whittingham....from Utah. Not Willingham, formerly of Stanford and Notre Dame.

Whittingham is 55 years old, has a great record in the Mountain West but not so much in the Pac 12, but has won a BCS Bowl game and his Utah team looked good smacking UM around back in September.

If Michigan hires Steve Addazio, I may be right there with you. I don't have an AA membership to have refunded, but I may just become a Pitt fan. Paul Chryst is better than Steve Addazio. He's 55 and only been a head coach for 4 seasons. I'd rather PJ Fleck than Addazio, and I refuse to accept that that's the best UM can do.

Now, if we learned that 19 other candidates were offered the job and refused, (including Ron English for Christ's sake!) and Addazio was number 20, ok. But we all know that's not going to be the case.

Yeah, that either auto corrected or I just typed it wrong but know it's Kyle not Tyrone.

Things are so out of control with speculation of names that I actually Googled Tyrone Willingham and Michigan.

Things so funny and out of control that it was believable!

Per twitter a sportsbook in Vegas has stopped taking bets on Harbaugh after a large number of bets come in from Michigan at the 2K max dropping the odds from 8-1 to 2-1.

This would take some of the bball sting away.
