tOfficial Israel Visit Romney Gaffe Prediction Thread

Having a U.S. President officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital does not gain us anything but pissing off the Palestinians. And could be a huge rift in the peace talks the U.S. has been a major sponsor of for decades.

But yeah, let's call them eunichs, or sackless, or say something clever about their nads, because they are doing what is smart for U.S. foreign policy.

Obama or Romney, whoever is elected should not change a thing as far as the policy of the U.S. Embassy in Israel.

I'd like to start a new era of U.S. foreign policy by removing all U.S. military personnel from foreign soil and cutting our foreign aid budget to any nation who is receiving it to zero dollars. That, to me, is the initial step in establishing a "smart" U.S. foreign policy. It's not a lot of money relative to the entire budget, but we will discover very quickly who our friends and enemies are at the government level. Right now, things are a bit muddled and virtually every nation on the planet is on the U.S. payroll.

How much do other nations give us in foreign aid?

That is kind of a tangent from what the topic was, but somewhat I agree.

Too many nations line up like little piglets waiting to suckle at the U.S. teets, then bad mouth us when they have a full belly.

I to believe we have way too many bases in foreign countries, especially Europe. WWII has been over for decades, they can defend themselves

Many of our military bases are not about helping those countries defend themselves, it's about having a presence in the region, and also staging areas, if we end up with combat in a nearby area.

We have several bases in Germany, and I can tell you, the Germans don't need our help defending from anyone in Europe.
