Trent Richardson on his way out of Indy

Murray- 3rd round
Bell- 2nd round
McCoy- 2nd round
Lacy- 2nd round
Lynch- 1st round
Hill- 2nd round
Gore- 3rd round
Forte- 2nd round
Charles- 3rd round
Ingram- 1st round

That's a chunk of the upper echelon RBs, and are 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks. I don't think it's as common to find guys like Arian Foster as you think.

you should include all of the top producing backs (Top 15 RBs in 2013)

The guys you missed.

5) Forsett - 7th round
6) Foster - Undrafted
10) Miller - 4th round
11) Morris - 6th round

So, out of 15 RBs only 4 were selected after the 3rd round. But, 7 of the 15 were taken after the 2nd and only 2 were taken in the first round.

I'm not going to go bananas if they don't pick an RB in the first. My point is that I want to see one taken in the first three rounds.

It's some false thinking that RBs are just coming out of nowhere. The majority of the top RBs in the NFL are taken in the top 3.

I would prefer they beef up their O Line before spending a 1st-3rd on a RB.

Reason? I can see it now. O Line fails to do it's job, rookie running back gets throttled and bottled all season(s), develops bad habits and front office/fans/etc get restless quick.

Or OLINE gets revamped and Matt Stafford is still not good..

I'll say what I always say with a new piece on offense, maybe it will help our new QB. Whoever that might be..

Grab a QB. Because when it comes the time to cut Matt we'll be stuck with Kellen Moore.

Holy shit I wish they'd let him go. I'm so sick of random BSU slappies, especially in the preseason, crying incessantly because they think he's elite.

Richardson is 5'9- 225.
Bell is 5'11- 229

Both are power runners. Not really sure how wacky my comparison is?

I thought you were comparing the players themselves. Not size lol. I'll take Bell over TRich alllllll day.

No no, just how they play. My point is that I wouldn't want to see him here he's just too similar to Bell.

I don't often advocate for RBs to be taken in the top 3 rounds, but this would be the one time I wouldn't mind seeing it. There is no threat out of the backfield of a guy who can take it the distance seeing as how Bush can't stay on the field anymore.

Ahhhh, I feel ya. I still like the kid from Boise State Jay Ajayai (sp?). Might be able to get him in the later rds if he doesn't blow up a the combine.

If we don't go after Gurley or Gordon, I wouldn't mind a guy much later in the draft, which I would prefer anyway. A big guy like David Cobb would be nice, guy is an intense runner that could match carries with Bell. Taking him with a 4th or 5th would leave our first 3-4 picks filling our cb, dt, and oline needs. I'm really starting to hate the thought of spending an early round pick on a rb. Cobb is going to be a good back in the nfl. He's what we need. Bell and Cobb wearing out the defense behind an upgraded line could be unstoppable. Similar to the Jets a few years back, possibly better.

I like that idea, but IMO, we need someone that can hit the homerun. As a later round pick (round 4 or 5) Jeremy Langford from MSU would fit our offense perfectly. The Lions and MSU have a similar style running game......a lot of misdirection, counters, off tackle runs that are designed to develop slowly and allow the RB to make reads and follow his blocking. Langford is a north south runner with 4.4 or 4.5 speed. He has the ability to make a man miss and outrun the secondary.

I don't want to spend a 1st round pick on a RB without upgrading the line first. Plus, Ezekial Elliot won't be available until next year!!!!

Abdullah looked like a stud at the senior bowl. I can't see him going before the 3rd unless he runs at blistering 40.

If we got Langford in 4-5, I'd be thrilled. How bout a rb/kr/pr in round 7 too. This dude is crazy fast, and supposedly ran a 4.11 40. See ya Ross

4.11?? I thought he ran a 4.3?

First of all, I doubt the 4.3, especially if no digital timer was used. But 4.11? I say no way in hell a guy runs a 4.11 on a digital timer.

I can't see it. That's olympic fast. Mathematicians estimate that Usian Bolt in his prime might have been able to run a 3.97 second 40 yard dash if he had competed in the event, but that's math on paper, not an actual run.

And some football player is going to do 15 tenths of a second worse than the world's fastest man.. like.. ever?

Propoganda bro. Never believe any time they didn't track three times over at the Combine, because college coaches lie like rugs.

If he gets a combine invite, we'll find out. 4.11 would be insane, hints why I said he "supposedly" ran that. Either way, guy looks pretty damn fast.

I wish speed = production. however......if a guy like that is there in the 7th.....why not?
