most Europeans and Australians I met during my travels said they thought most American cinema was crap. Of course my sample size is small and I would always challenge the assertion with the question "then whey does it do so well over here?" But that was the most common attitude of people I interacted with. Same with McDonald's and KFC, people pointed them as examples of what's wrong w/ America and how we turn out a bunch of shit, but they were everywhere - esp in China I think KFC was the biggest fast food chain in China and it wasn't even close.
